I had a loan that was 6 days late. Most companies have a 10 day grace period. My references were called by Kimberly who worked there. In no documentation have I received that references would be called not even a week after the payment was due. This is not good business. Let it also be known that this company never emailed me or mailed me during this time. I have payed my 6 days late fee. This is terrible business!
In the State of Georgia, a late fee will be assessed after 5 days. Therefore, it is our Company practice to try to prohibit the consumer from being assessed a late fee. We do so by phoning the consumer to remind them of a past due payment. We do not have a grace period as all payments are due by the due date. We do not email clients. Moreover, we do not even have this customer's email address. As for phoning a reference, he provided the reference to us for this purpose. Had a return phone call happened, we would not have phoned a reference. It is unfortunate that he feels this is terrible business, we consider it prompt follow up in an effort to prevent late fees and delinquent credit being reported to the credit bureau.
