Review: Hired ServiceMaster to clean office and bathrooms, after one month of service they did not clean glass doors, tables, toliets. Reported bad service several times,at least six times and nothing ever got done about the bad service. Ask to terminate contract and they are charging a full months rate but they will not send crew out to clean during the last month.Desired Settlement: Would like last month fee refunded or crew sent out to clean for last month fee.

Response:

I would like to address the complaint that is referenced in your letter. We were hired for janitorial services to be provided at Emteq which I believe Ms. [redacted] to be an employee of. She states that after one month of service they were not pleased the job being done. The contract for this account started February 5, 2013. We never received any notices from the company that they were unhappy with the services being performed until approximately the middle of May. Each time a complaint was reported, we would send the crew back in to correct the issues and also had a supervisor visit the site to be sure the tasks were complete. On May 21 an email was sent to my administrative assistant stating they had a few issues, but they also wanted to inquire about is providing some extra services at an additional fee. She responded to the email stating that the issues would be corrected and that we would provide them with an estimate for the services they were requesting. On May 23, another email was sent stating they had decided to terminate the contract. Please see the attached emails to verify this information. On May 24 I drafted a letter to the company reminding them of the conditions of the contract they signed and outlined that we would honor their request to terminate service, however because they failed to abide by the contract they would remain financially obligated to pay May and June invoices. See attached letter. After they had received the letter, a phone call was made to our office asking if we would continue to clean for the month of June. I stated to them that since they requested to terminate service immediately, we felt it was not in our best interest to return our employees to that environment. If they had given the proper 30 day notice, then we would have filled our obligation and they would have received no further charges.Their desired settlement request is unreasonable due to they broke a signed contract that cleared outlined the termination policy. Please let me know if there is anything else I need to do regarding this matter.
