ServiceMaster By First Response Reviews (1)

We had this guys from service master in my place because they were doing demolition work in my garage and bathroom, they came and they smashed my windshield that I had in the garage on the side covered, since they put all the weight from everything they moved against the windshield so I called them and talk with manager and he agreed to have my windshield fix the problem is they never came nor call me back and this was over a month ago, I've been having patience with them never called me, I tried to call and talk to the owner and he treat me like an it without any respect at all telling that they will no pay me nothing with he's lack of work ethic I want to follow thru the process and also I'm filing a complain with the state contractor department.Product_Or_Service: WindshieldDesired SettlementRefund or Replacement.Either way they have two options or pay [redacted] will file a complain with the state and will sue.Business Response On Friday 3/14/14 we received a job from [redacted] to mitigate water damage in a half bath and garage. The home was occupied by the owner "[redacted]" (name redacted) we arrived and began the mitigation process. The Demo of some tile floor and drywall was scheduled for the following Wednesday 3/18/14. Over the weekend of the 15th and 16th [redacted] moved out of the home and a tenant "[redacted]" (name redacted) had moved in. The tenant had piled some of his belongings in the garage. When we arrived to remove some drywall in the garage our techs photo documented the area prior to touching anything. They moved a few of the tenants belongings to the side of the garage in order to protect them and keep them dust free, and preformed the drywall demo. We received a call from the home owner about a week later stating that the tenant is reporting a light scratch to a Chevy window. I called and left a voice mail for [redacted] letting him know I would like to get some more info about where the window was so I could look into the matter. Later in the week he called back after business hours and left a message with our answering service. In the subsequent week we played phone tag several times. I ended up getting ahold of him in the evening and I asked him about where the window had been. He stated it was sitting out in the open on a bench seat and we had moved it up against a wall and behind a piano. And that he didn't think the scratch could be polished out as the glass was un-tempered. He stated he had found a replacement window for $250, I told him that as long as I could verify it was us that moved the window we would do whatever it takes to make things right. I reviewed the photos we took of the area and the window is not anywhere to be seen in the area before or after we moved the contents. I also spoke with both techs that did the work and they are confident there was no window in the area where they moved [redacted]'s belongings. I then called and left voice mails' for [redacted] as well as [redacted] to let them know we would not be paying for the window as there is no evidence it was where it was said to be. [redacted] called me back and screamed expletives at me over the phone prior to asking for the owner and treating him in a similar fashion. At this point his story changed from us causing a light scratch to us smashing the window. The photo sent from [redacted] on 3/28 clearly shows a very light scratch. In addition the price he demanded from us for a new window increased from $250 to $400. I later spoke with the insurance agent on this loss and he stated that the landlord [redacted] had deducted $400 from his rent for the window. In effect [redacted] is trying to get both parties to pay almost double the value of a window with a light scratch that was not even in the area we did the work in. As [redacted] had just moved into the home there is a good chance the scratch happened during the move and he is trying to assign blame to us. Furthermore after speaking with the agent we were told that there are coverage issues on this claim as there are two separate policy's, a home owners policy, and an association policy, and that the work we did might be less than the total deductible. We discounted our final invoice by 25% and offered to reduce it even further to just cover our hard costs if it turns out coverage cannot be worked out. Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)I cannot believe the lack of work ethic this business have, they never called me to tell me nothing about my windshield, they are talking about 250 dollars that never came out of my mouth in first place, windshield cost 350 dollars plus shipping turning over 420 dollars with shipping. So that thing that they're saying is a complete lie, I just can't believe that hard working people like us open our doors from our home just to someone come over and mess things up and they just don't even respond or even at least tell the truth. I know that they probably can't even pay for the damage I guess they need the money more than me, that is just sad Final Business Response In this case we have photo evidence to support that the window was not in the area of contents we moved. Furthermore we know that [redacted] has already been made whole and has received $400 in compensation from his landlord for the damaged window. We don't feel it is fair to pay for something that had nothing to do with us and has already been paid for.Final Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)Sir, when you going to start to have some work ethic, whatever my landlord say or do, does not concern to you, she never touch anything, if I'm making the the complain is to make you guys responsible for what you did, is it that you can even afford to pay or what? I feel sorry for this business, I will make sure to take this company to the city. And of your information I never received nothing from no one, so sir be responsible and learn some values and maybe some work ethic, I will make sure to share this case and information with the internet so people look for better businesses with good work ethic. Why do you say something is not right? When did I received money from my landlord? Did my landlord made any work at my house or was it service lack of ethic masters? Make you guess and make sure to share the real information, I feel sorry for you guys that can even afford to pay somethingn that you damaged. I guess you guys have no respect for the people that gives your company some business.
