On Saturday 10/12/19 I contacted ServiceMaster to extract water from my home that was caused by a broken sump pump. Service came out at 9pm extracted some water setup some equipment and left. I was in contact with the tech daily because I wasn't at all pleased with the way machines were placed to dry out the carpet. As example my whole basement was not wet at all the water cane in by the windows and where the sump pump was located. The tech stated it was late that evening and he had to drive from Fergus Falls he didnt no what was all needed so he had forgotten some items. I called immediately the next day about the dehumidifier and was wasnt it in the main area where the water had leaked in he placed it in a bathtub with the door closed and told us to take it out or have someone to come and do it he was stuck at another job. My husband is disabled and walks with a cane this machine weighs atleast 100pds. I called daily about pricing of all these machines in which nothing was working the carpet was still wet. After the 3rd day of no air in which he advised the carpet started to become musty and moldy in which of have asthma and could not stay in my own home. I then called another company to come and remove the carpet because by then it was ruined and smelling. It seems as they didnt want to save the carpet they didnt try to save it and then stated he wanted to get paid to remove the carpet. It seems as if this was there concern that carpet wasnt even 6yrs old. I had them come and remove their equipment asap which he said he couldnt do since he was on a job AGAIN, so now I Have To Pay for yet ANOTHER DAY! He was upset but at this point I knew this was just a scam. So with that being said I reached out to management before I recieved the bill to avoid this from happening but they immediately try to justify their overbilling and Fraudulent charges. I'm appalled with the way they talked to me. We spent one 5,000 replacing carpet and fixing the

Please see attached documentation in rebuttal to Ms. claim. We did not get the letter in time to get the full 10 days to respond. I hope you will still add this documentation to the file.

We billed only for worked performed and could have saved the carpet had Ms. followed our recommendations of removing the wet carpet pad and leaving the windows closed to control the drying environment.

During our phone conversations, she mentioned several times that she was warned about us and told our technician she knew someone who used to work for us. We are of the belief that Ms *** had no intention of paying us from the start of this job. She refers to expert opinions from others in the field saying that the carpet pad did not need to be removed and the windows needed to be opened. If she valued their opinion, I question why she did not hire them from the start.

We removed a day of equipment rental due to the delay in removing the drying equipment in an effort to resolve the issues for Ms ***. The equipment worked properly and the adjustment for the day has been made already. Her original invoice was $1694.09 and after conversations with her and adjustments her final billing was $1507.00 which will stand. While we tried to explain the costs to her, she continually interrupted us and became verbally abusive.
