ServiceMaster Restoration by Zaba

I experienced a toilet overflow in the upstairs of my house. Water leaked through the ceiling, my ceilings bubbled, my hardwood floors were soaked, my cabinets and carpets were wet, all due to a toilet overflow. I could not believe how much water could come out of a toilet. My 2 year old stuffed the toilet with paper and toys before we left the house that morning and then flushed it and there you go, an overflow! I dont know how long the water was running but it was a huge mess. My husband of course was out of town and I am pregnant. I called the insurance company at 6pm hysterically crying, it was after-hours and all I could do was get a claim number. They referred me to two restoration companies. The first company never answered and did not return my call. I called ServiceMaster Zaba, someone answer right away, Neil came out immediately, he said he has small kids so he understands the urgency, he was very understanding which helped calm me down. However the process was overwhelming because of the water damage. His crew arrived around 8pm and worked until 11pm and came back the next day. They were fast and cleaned up afterwards. I was on the phone the next day with the Service Master office, the girls at the office (Vanessa and Alicia) had already called my insurance company and gave me all the information I needed, they made it real simple for me and I honestly don't think they needed to do all that work on my behalf. I think they extra nice because I am very pregnant but I can see all their staff are great with clients. I wish I could give them more that 5 Stars, they really did an outstanding job. Employees take pride in their work, this company really treats their staff well, I could tell by their professionalism and attentiveness and I also asked the crews. Thank you Zaba staff.

Last month on a Saturday evening, the North Shore suburbs experienced severe flooding. I unfortunately was a homeowner affected by all the rain water. Wilmette is a flood zone and without the right insurance coverage you are basically screwed.

My 3000 sq ft basement was covered in filthy sewer water, my lighter pieces of furniture were floating! I didn't even attempt to clean it up. The water kept rising and it went all the way up to the 3rd step.

I quickly looked online and found several informative blogs on a website, I called the company to come out, Service Master by Zaba, fortunately for me they were already serving the Wilmette area and were able to see me in a few hours. Right before they arrived it down poured again and the water was rising even higher. I was done panicking at this point, damage was done.

ServiceMaster arrived a few hours later, given how busy they were with all the floods in the area I appreciate they made me a priority as well. I cant go into all the details but in a nutshell, they extracted the water from the carpet which I had to throw out, they removed drywall and insulation, they cleaned sewage residue for a few hours, it smelled awful. There was no way we could've done this on our own.

Needless to say my Insurance did not cover a lot of the expenses, we should've made ourselves more familiar with our policy and purchased additional coverage.

I am grateful for Service Master I appreciate everything they did for me and also their sympathy towards the loss of all my belongings in the basement, they were terrific and worked within my budget. They are really great at what they do and definitely deserve a great review!
