Set in Stone (Puesto En Piedra) Reviews (1)

Review: My wife, Dr. [redacted] and I entered into a mutually agreed upon contract with Set In Stone on June 19, 2014. Said contratc was signed by both parties on June 19, 2014 for several projects at our two properis as follows: [redacted] - Install New 30 years roof; repair upper wood deck/patio and; repair lower cement/stone deck/patio.[redacted] - Install granite counter tops with back splash and sinks (i.e., a double sink for the kithen sink and a single sink fo rthe bar sink); replace missing roof shingles; replace damaged roof anf chimney flashing; and; install 1199 sq ft of floor tiles n the dining room, livingroom, hallway, four bedrooms (one bedroom converted into an office) and the basement steps (approximately 17 steps). The floor tile installation included the moving of furniture and removal of laminate wood floors and carpets. To date, the contractor has not reconnected the plumbing to the bar sink nor has he started work on any other projects for 1439 Brookside Avenue property. The contract price for the floors agreed to is: $9.00 per sq ft (i.e., $3.00 per sq ft for the floor tiles and $6.00 per sq ft for installing said floor tiles). Plus, we paid an additional $800.00 for the contractor to move and return the furniture to it's original location as part of the floor tile installatioon. To date, the contractor has only completed 25% of the projects in the contratc although he has received 75% of the total contract amount. The contractor is slow to respond to our numerous e-mail messages and now he is trying to change the terms of the contract. The contractor damaged our walls while installing the granite counter tops and back splash (i.e., [redacted]) and still haven't repaired the damage. Also, he damaged some of the cement/stone walls of the lower deck/patio (i.e., [redacted] that has not been repaired. Tomas is the owner of Set In Stone and Ms. [redacted] is his office manager.Desired Settlement: We want the contractor to fulfill his contractual obligations in a timely manner or refund us for all of the projects not completed and he must also reimburse us for all of the damage caused by his employees while they were working on both properties if he fails to repair the damage in a timely manner. The amount of said refund would be $13,051.00 for the floor tile project plus the costs to repair the damages caused by his employees and/or any projects he fails to complete.
