On April [redacted] there was a contract agreement between [redacted] and myself for a basement remodel. The work consisted of creating a half bathroom, where we would install a sink and a toilet and tile the wall and floors. We moved the laundry room to a different location and we removed closets along...

the exterior wall. The open space was plastered, sanded and painted. We've also added based moldings. Prior to the project being completed, [redacted] took his vacation time and was out of the country. Payments weren't made on schedule because of his absence. We agreed three weeks later after communicating back and forth for me to come in and complete the project. In the above complaint I've noticed [redacted] a complained about me not being able to complete the project within the time frame, but there were a lot of add-ons to the job that was not factored into the budget nor the time frame. We've added a wall that we had to reframe and sheet rock and also added a closet. In addition there were pocket doors added to the bathroom which initially wasn't part of the job and changed the color of all the doors to black, which was originally agreed upon to gray because he changed his mind but disputed with us stating he didn't and that's what he originally wanted. The color of ceilings are always white unless specified by customer, however after [redacted] witness my employees painting it white, he waited until completion to say he wanted it to be grey. The job was estimated at $7000 which was clearly under priced and a great deal which we did not increase cost for him because I did under estimate the price but I did try my best to complete the job and to make sure he was satisfied. But when [redacted] and his girlfriend started pulling out a flashlight to examine every square inch of the job, at that point I knew there was no way of satisfying them. This was after the third time we've tried rectifying the problems they saw. There was a balance of $875 remaining from the original contract and also additional $50 for relocating and outlet and an additional $150 for his last minute ceiling color change which only covered the paint and not the labor, which he wasn't charged for. The pumped that was installed for [redacted] should have been and additional $2500 which we did not charge them for. This job was a referral from two great clients and mutual friends of [redacted] and I gave him a really good price and didn't profit from. This project was really under budgeted and I was setback by over $7000 in labor and material cost. There was a balance of $1075 that I was in the end working very hard for to make sure he was satisfied but it seemed as though every time I kept returning to the job there was another issue. As to the issue with the pump, [redacted] never reached out to us about it and if he did we would have definitely rectify the problem. I will look into this to see if there is anyway we can upload pictures of the job from the time completion I would love to. Even the clients who referred him visited the site and told him the job looked really good and he definitely got a great price.

Review: On April*, 2014 [redacted] and I signed a contract to have construction done on the basement at [redacted]. The project was to take 8-10 days to complete. with a completion date of May**, 2014 as per our signed contract. Over 3 months later the project was not completed. Through various failed attempts I tried to get [redacted] and his workers to complete the job as stated. As of November**, 2014 the project is still not completed. The quality of the paint job and the moldings in the basement is substandard. I could still see the original paint color through the new color that was applied, there are some areas not painted, and the moldings are not installed properly. In Mid-October I started to smell an odor from the bathroom and the laundry room where [redacted] installed some type of pump to ensure that waste flows successfully from the bathroom to the proper channel. I had a plumber from [redacted] come over to the house on November**, 2014 and check on the smell. His professional judgement was the vent pipe connected to the pump installed by [redacted] was not correctly installed behind the wall and the wall would have to be opened to check the pipes and reconnect. [redacted] failed to meet his obligation as his agreed to on invoice no: [redacted] signed by both parties and dated on April**, 2014 at approximately [redacted] hours.Desired Settlement: Finish the Job

[redacted] Talks out of both sides of his mouth. You can NOT trust ANYTHING he says. He smiles and yeses you and tries to relate you as a good salesman should be in the end his sales pitch and work ethics are not aligned. DO NOT HIRE Severe Builders.
