Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because: The countertop was not templated, installed or fixed properly by Severino and Sons as documented in my letters to them starting in February of The wholesaler did come to the house and said that they simply supply the stoneThey do not have anything to do with the fabrication or installation of the stoneThe Sevreino's came out to me home, both MrSevrino and his son John yelled at me and MrSeverino threatened to sue meI am assuming for the poor job he didAs discussed previously, Severino and Son new they type of stone selected and agreed to do the jobThe templator who was sent by out bythem, told me he had never done templating before and MrSeverino and his son had to come out later that day and made many corrections, drawing on top of the same template the first man drewThe installation was delayed a week because they told me they had to order a special compound ( which I believe was used to fix a corner piece that looks like it had broken off.) During the instalation, the young men installing the stone, discussed between themselves that the rails around the cooktop were too short and they filled in the seems with a drak grey colorIt was so bad that MrSevrino came back with one of the men and smashed the back rail to pieces so it could be replacedIt was not removed with any care or concern to my new cabinets, just smashed with a hammerAgain, there was still large grey seams that didn't matchThere was also another large seam that did not match either, which was very prominent on the islandThere are yellow marks on the stone that look like highlighterThere was supposed to be approximtley a 1/2" of stone that came out over the countertop, there are areas where the stone was sanded so much that there is barely any over hangI had to hire another company to come out to repair the stoneThey had to dig out all of the bad grey and fill it with a better compound/epoxy that matches the stone, they filled in other areas that were also badly filled, they removed some of the yellow and had to clean and reseal the entire kitchen, etcThe cost to me was $2,see attachment
This has been a very upsetting situation as my only job was to pick out stoneIf Severino and Son did not have the experience to work with the product they should never have accepted the jobI relied on the experience and professionalism they said they had to complete my projectIf Severino and Son accepted the job and later realized they did not have the expertise to complete it properly, they should have cancelled the job and returned my money so that I could have hired a differnt companyMrSeverino said the stone only cost him $I paid $6,110.00 , $to Severino and Son plus $to repair their botched job

To whom it may concern:*** *** would not be the contact at the company for this issue. For further correspondence please use Harry. He has been handling this issue from the start. We made repeated attempts to assuage the clients concerns, however, she was more interested in
pursuing this through the court system. At this point unfortunately, that was her decision. There were numerous issues with the cabinets improperly installed and modified by an amateur installer. It was a second floor installation that the client never disclosed. When our installer arrived and informed her that it couldn't be installed, she called the office and insisted that we proceed. She was angry, was yelling at our installer, at myself (Harry), insulted every member of our company that we sent out to her home, and was disagreeable to every effort that I made to reach an amicable solution. She said that our template technician smelled badly, that our shop mechanic was a beer drinking redneck, and that our installer was unintelligent. I asked that further correspondence be in writing. She continued to call the office and continued to inflate the value of the claims, adding additional appliances to what she claimed was damaged. At this point we had offered a resolution and she stated that she didn't want our workers or anyone that works for us in her home. She wanted to pursue this with the District Justice. We want all of our clients to have an excellent experience and to be satisfied with their purchases

I am rejecting this response because: I have a WRITTEN quote that states $600.00 complete for the backsplash. They were told there was 20 square feet of backsplash. When they came to my house to install the countertop, they not only saw the area to be tiled, they measured the area to order the tile & they started to remove the existing tile. Nothing was said at this point that it would cost more than $600 dollars. If I was told it was going to cost $1090.00 I would not have had the backsplash re tiled. I wrote the check because the owner refused to leave until he received the check. The reason it took an extra day to do the backsplash, was because they did not order enough tile. They had to pick up more tile the next day. They knew from Jan 17th, when THEY measured the backsplash area, until March 17th, when they started the tile job, What the square footage was. At no time did anyone call us to say there would be an increase in the cost for this job. Before I was charged $490.00 more than quoted, we had discussed floor tile. Before the owner left, knowing how I felt, he told me to stop in to pick out the tile for the floor, can you believe that! I know what it's like to make ends meet, I am retired. This situation should not have happened, They are the experts. not us.

The price provided to client was an initial showroom walk in,  no square footage or material  selection in hand. The client askedhow much an average counter top cost & back splash? I gave them a ball park on approximate 18 sq ft of labor only ! no materials included since none were...

yetselected. This was a verbal estimation. later on materials were selected and square footage of material increased by 30% more then what his calculations were. The material selected was not a standard tile it was more involved then original verbal request by client. Prior to commencethe tile work he had both labor and tile increase in hand and difference of square footage. With Material cost, Labor and increase of square footagewhy would he agree to install if he did not feel they could afford it. I find it hard to believe anyone would write a check and then think about it laterwe also did other work with this client and there was no issues with any of arrangements. Very disappointed that we put all the effort into our work and go out of our way and client feels that they over pay. The united states is built on hard  work hard and reward for your effort. t  the$ 1,000 he paid is a gift with 2 days of work involved all materials included, labor for an American worker per day at $200 to $300 is more then reasonable to feed their family and with $420 in materials and all setting materials job took 2 days with grouting and we broke even at that money.we should of invoiced the correct amount of $ 1,350.00 and when client gave me the description of his back splash he said it was tiny nothing fancyI can not run a business in the united states at 3rd world labor prices if he feels that he could not afford our prices there many other people that mayprovide a service at a different standard then we deliver. Our clients get more then they pay, I feel that the  $ 50 dollars we ended up with at the endof his project is sad but on top of all they are still dissatisfied with an excellent job and a reasonable American labor rate.People do not understandthe cost to run a business they look at $1,000 and do not consider materials , labor , insurance, gas , electric, cost of operation, setting materialsinvolved and the never ending expense of working in America sad but I feel the the worse is yet to come. The country is free to use anyone else theyfelt may have given them a cheaper job why go to the entire process of ordering material agreeing to installing it handing a check and then have achange of mind on what it should of cost. If he felt price was unfair then I would have appreciated a don't worry I found someone else to thework. I can't not understand this complaint. I am rejecting this response because:The stone is not the problem. The fabrication and installation are the problems.  The stone needed to be cut with better/special tools so the edges were not jagged AND the seams were done horribly. The seams should not be wide, a different color and stick out with glue above the surface of the stone. If the Fabricator did not have experience with this type of stone, as they admitted over and over again, they should have rejected the job as they were well aware of the product before hand. ALSO The stone should never have cracked after 3 months! The wholesaler of the stone said he sold the smae product to other fabricators and did not have any problems. The problems are because of this fabricator and their lack of expertise. They had no idea what they were doing.

Review: Written esimate for tile backsplash at a costof $600.00 complete. When the job was started the owner said it would cost $880.00. I objected, informing him, that his son gave us the price of $600.00 complete. We agreed on a $500.00 deposit, & the owner would discuss cost with his son. When the job was complete the owner told me the cost was $1090.00. I complained, but he insisted on $1090.00. I issued a check for $590.00, I don't know why I did. After tinking about it, I tried to stop payment on the check, but it did not happen. I am very disgusted about this outcome.Desired Settlement: Refund of overcharge from $600.00 estimate, which would be $490.00.

Review: We entered into a contract for a bathroom remodel with Severino and Son, Incwith the contract end-date of Oct23rd, As of Jan6, they still have not completed the job, leaving us to deal with some serious issues that compromised the use of the only full bathroom in our house: a leaky sink, and a 13" x 12" hole in the shower wall where they were to re-install a marble nicheThey tried to fix the leaky sink on two occasions, but it still leaked after their attempted fixesThe first time they installed the niche it was not built/installed correctly (e.gnot pitched forward) so that after showers the niche would contain standing waterThey removed the niche on Nov23rd and taped our old shower curtain over the holeAt that time we noticed they hadn't put any waterproofing material (e.gcement board or membrane) behind the niche, which has a horizontal surface and seamsThere is also a problem with the marble vanity top: the hole for the undermount sink was not cut evenly and doesn't look goodThere are also other cosmetic issues in the bathroom (cracking caulk, unsealed grout, dented escutcheon plate)They also broke an electrical outlet and light in our foyer in mid-Octwhen they plugged in a wet saw, told us they would fix it, but it remains a safety hazard without any lighting on the stairs in that part of the houseThey also have yet to finish repairing a hole in our master bedroom wall that occurred during constructionOn Dec1st we sent them a certified letter via USPS alerting them to all of these issues and asking them to replyWe rescheduled with them twice (12/and 12/12) to come and finish the job in December, but they canceled both timesWe sent an email on Decto reschedule, to which they did not reply as of Jan 5th.Desired Settlement: We are seeking reimbursement for the following costs to repair and finish the job they left incomplete in our only full bathroom, minus the remainder we owe Severino and Son: fix leaky sink, tile over hole in shower wall, refund for marble niche (we already paid Severino and Son for this, but they removed it and took it back to their shop), repair of bro[redacted] electrical outlet, and cost of new escutcheon plateWe have scheduled and hired professionals to complete these outstanding items

Review: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: We've reviewed the reply written by **[redacted] (JA) of Severino
and Son (S&S) and we've attached documentation showing that: the
contract written and signed by of S&S states that the bathroom
renovation would be complete by 10/23/(copy of contract); on
10/25, the last time visited the job site in person, in addition to a
damaged drawer front for the vanity, the outstanding items were: vanity
not installed, marble top, marble niche, marble corner shower shelves
not cut or installed, sink and sink plumbing not installed, grout for
shower and floor tile not complete, shower niche and corner shelves not
installed, toilet not installed (attached dated photos showing the state
of the bathroom on 10/31) the illness and sick leave that refers
to as impeding the completion of the bathroom was MrSeverino [redacted]'s
(SA) flu on Dec12th (attached email from S&S), which took place
more than a month and a half after the contract stated work would be
completePrior to SA's illness, S&S came to our house on just two
days in Nov and never in Dec.; The last time that S&S contractors
came to our house (on 11/23) they removed a marble shower niche they
had built and installed incorrectly the first time out of the shower
wall leaving a 13"x12" hole, and their second attempt to fix the leak
under the sink failed again, allowing water to leak into the wooden
vanity base (emails and copy of certified letter signed for by SA on
12/3)These were not "small final touches" that remained as stated
in his reply, but major, integral components, which, left incomplete,
had the potential to cause water damage and mold problems; there were
also multiple other issues (attached letter and emails); After two
cancellations by S&S in December (6th and 12th, attached emails) to
fix remaining issues, we made a final attempt via email on 12/to
reschedule (attached email)We waited one week for a reply from
S&S, and when we did not receive any communication from them by
12/we scheduled professional contractors to fix the leaking sink
plumbing and repair the large hole in the shower wall including the
addition of waterproof material behind the tile, as allowing these
problems to persist would cause further damage to our bathroom and the
floor belowWe gave Severino and Son two full months after the
contract end date (from 10/to 12/23) to finalize the bathroom and
fix problems with their initial installation, giving them access to our
house on weekdays both during business hours as well as evenings,
and also on weekends (see our email to S&S dated Dec.1, also sent
via USPS Certified Mail)So our initial settlement request remains:
that S&S reimburse us for the cost of finishing the bathroom, a
refund for the marble niche that we paid for but they removed from our
home, cost of new escutcheon plate, as well as the cost to pay a
certified electrician to fix the electrical outlet and light that
S&S broke in mid-OctoberWe will be happy to provide receipts for
these items

Here this a list of facts I have reviewed every line to insure accuracy and statement were collaborated with our partners at Severino & Son Incto be true.1) Niche was removed by request of client, the niche is completed and re fabricated for three weeks now waiting to be installed( Severino the owner & [redacted] Witnesses ) 2) Door for cabinet also was re-ordered once it came in they refused the door and did not allow for Re-install said it was no longer required( Severino the owner, [redacted] & [redacted] Witnesses, )3) It was impossible to get into the home for fear of trust, my sub contractor was Latino and they felt uncomfortable ( of the people I sent felt discriminated against) treated them like criminalsWitnesses ( [redacted] & [redacted] )4) they had there entire bathroom re-plumbed with new pipes and shut offs and also additional work done through our sub without our knowledgeWe will be collecting this money(Severino the owner & [redacted] Witnesses,[redacted],[redacted])5) I have attached an E-mail showing that we were in contact with them about cancelling one day because a Granite slab fell on a worker almost killing him but they don't understand this( [redacted], Severino, [redacted] witnesses )6) Severino and Son will not issue money this is not Right it's fraudWe are currently running projects and have complaints and we have completed thousands over years with complaintsLet us finish the job 7) Line # is stating that we install niche, touche up caulk , and do our final punch list as required on all jobs and problem solvedThis seems like a case of wanting the money not the service( Pay your final bill plus extras )8) the electrical outlet issue[redacted] talked to master electricians they stated " Outlets or electrical functions of home do not go bad from plugin in an appliance.Client may have some wiring issuesIt is a new house for them[redacted] suggested out of courtesy that he could maybe look at it to help but apparently the outlet has now gone bad from an appliance being plugged into it( My contractor [redacted] said it was not working from the start) 9) Client was doing electrical in their own kitchen while my Sub contractor [redacted] was working in the bathroomThe machine that was plugged in is 120V standard voltage we use this daily in every home we work never an issue .10) Severino and son is ready to stand by the product we do warranty our productsOur sub contractors carry insurance as well us our company, but it is mandatory we can complete the job firsthow are we going to be made responsible for products that can not be completed due to non complaint clients not allowing entrance to the house for month's nowI have never ran into a situation were a client has us complete 100% of the job then have us remove items and then refuse to have them re-installedAs a company we are not refusing to correct the issuesor warranty our products or service.Severino & Son took the responsible route and try to work with them but they only care about Money and refundsHere is the E-mail attachment from them to usThe offer stands no hard feelings we are not upset just want to complete a few hours worth of work and get paidwe are ready to install the Niche , re-caulk a few areas then they can pay the bill remaining please keep in mind the job was completed and they kept money in hand never paid the balance this was due month's ago and they refused payment we do not care at this point about the amount due untilwe complete the touch ups they requireMy biggest issue is why did this client allow us to work for a month in their house super friendly no issues the entire time, paid as we completed items and was a pleasure to deal with and then on the last item installed they lock us out of the home and do not allow entryThis is a case of discrimination I will stand by this, I know this is a harsh accusation but my people feel that when[redacted] worked there everything was great then the final items that were finished by [redacted] & [redacted] my father's year plus contractors never an issue with anyone very pleasant and hard working individuals, client does not want anyone to re enter the home almost like they are determined for us never to return from the day they first were there to installThank You[redacted], Severino & Son Inc

Dear **[redacted],
Please find below our rejection of the response sent by Severino and Son on Jan28, in reference to Complaint ID [redacted]
Best regards,
[redacted] and [redacted]
**[redacted] of Severino and Son should reread our initial complaint and subsequent rejection of their company's response and also review the contract he wrote and signed**[redacted] needs to understand that his company failed to provide what was laid out in the contract within the agreed timeframe (by Oct23rd), and despite being given an additional two months beyond the contract end date (until Dec23rd), his company still failed to deliver a working bathroomAfter waiting more than two months after the contract end date for Severino and Son to finish the job, we hired competent contractors who came when they said they would be here, finished in the timeframe that was agreed upon, and got it right the first timeWe now have a working sink that does not leak we and no longer have a 13" x 12" hole in the shower wall, both of which had the potential to cause further water damage to the walls and floor belowWe also hired an electrician to fix the outlet that was broken by Severino and Son's subcontractor
We paid Severino and Son for a complete bathroom in working orderIt is not fraud to ask Severino and Son to refund us money for services (functioning sink and shower) and materials (marble shower niche) we paid for which they did not provide in a timeframe in accordance with the contract they wrote and signed, or in the ensuing months we generously allowed them
**[redacted] should review the many emails, attached documents, and the certified letter that we sent to Severino and Son and which we shared with the Revdex.comThese documents show that we gave Severino and Son access to our home any day of the week, sent Severino and Son many emails to schedule times they could come to our house, and a certified letter (they received on Dec3) requesting them to please return to finish the jobWe never denied them access to our home, never refused entry, or canceled an appointment
As for **[redacted]'s allegation that we discriminated agains their employees: This is a ridiculous - and quite serious - accusation**[redacted] should become familiar with the terms libel and defamation, and be careful what he publishes on the Revdex.com website for third party viewingAlthough this is a ridiculous accusation and completely untrue, I will address it here for the record: [redacted] came into our home on three separate occasions, we were clearly not uncomfortable working with himAccusing us of treating him like a criminal is equally absurd: I made [redacted] and his wife, [redacted] espresso and served it to them on a tray with sugar and creamI gave [redacted]'s son [redacted] a juice box and a granola bar and the password for our wireless internet, helping him get online so he could watch basketball games on his deviceI also moved a dining room chair outside the bathroom door so [redacted] could sit comfortably while he dad workedI talked with [redacted] about school (he is in 6th grade) and when [redacted] spoke to me in Spanish, [redacted] reminded [redacted] he should be speaking in English[redacted] told [redacted] that I spoke Spanish and that it was OK and we all laughed about itI also asked [redacted] for his business card ([redacted] and [redacted] supplied me with two) in case we needed work done elsewhere in our home in the futureI would say this behavior is very far from treating someone like a criminal
