In reference to the complaint filed by *** *** it is Sew Chic’s position that the client changed her mind about the alterations requested and had buyer’s remorse about the $dress that was purchased.
"">The client was charged for a dress hem and train removal. The invoice she completed with her name and contact information clearly listed 1)Shorten all the way around $80, and 2) Take train off $20. We do not believe that she would have paid for a service that she did not want
When the client came to pick up the dress she insisted that we had made a mistake by removing the train of the dress. Although, we knew the client was not right we tried to resolve the situation. We offered to add fabric to the dress to recreate a train, but also informed her that we would have to purchase the fabric at a local fabric store and select a close-match from available supply. She agreed to have us do the additional work at no additional cost. However, she was still not satisfied at which point she became impossible to reason with and argumentative.
Furthermore, when the client states she was inconvenienced having to bring her daughter to the initial fitting it should be known it is our policy to require fittings for all alterations in order to avoid exact situations like this The fact that this client couldn't understand why we would need her daughter present for the fitting is just further support for how she was being unreasonable with us from the beginning
We are committed to client satisfaction and quality results but cannot justify paying for a dress that we altered exactly to specifications. If we had made a mistake due to human error we would have gladly refunded Ms*** for the alterations and even the dress, but that is not what happened here After nearly years in business this is the first time we've encountered a situation like this or had any formal complaint made The closest thing we've had to a complaint is a negative review on Yelp, but those are related to being perceived as over-priced rather than the quality of our workmanship

This complaint is related to dissatisfaction with repairs and a
patch that was placed over a hole on a purse. After the final attempt to satisfy the client, she left shouting, cursing, and referencing her black belt because we would not issue her a $refund.
Sew Chic does not issue refunds. Our policy is printed on receipts and posted on the wall at the check-out stations. When a customer picks an order up they are encouraged to inspect it to ensure it is to their liking and specifications. Complaints typically do not surface months later
Although, we strive to accommodate all reasonable customer requests we will no longer accept repairs to purses or heavily worn and tattered items as a result of this complaint. Replacement is more cost effective for the customer and Sew Chic. Often times this is recommended to customers.
In an attempt to satisfy the customer we performed numerous repairs and redid services well past a reasonable time frame from when the order was originally placed
Here is a list of the services performed:
Reinforced fabric behind heavy-duty snap & reset snap
Reinforced fabric underneath seams of pocket & reset pocket
Reinforced Fabric under zipper & reset zipper
Reinforced fabric behind heavy-duty snap & reset snap
“Resized” Lining to mend frayed edges; Added seams before overlocking
Bounded Strap holes w/ Bias Binding (other gromitt fell off while working)
“Resized” to mend frayed edges; added overlocking seams and topstitched
Patched Hole outside back of purse
Outside Bottom Corrected foam stabilizer because it was twisted and warped
New hole mended with bias binding
