services.[redacted] scheduled an appointment to have alterations done to his suit jacket and pants on 11/4/2014. Upon arriving at my shop on the scheduled appointment date, [redacted] asked to have his sleeves of his jacket to be let own (lengthened) as far as possible, and pants waist to be let out enlarged) and the pants legs to be shortened (hemmed). I explained to [redacted] that there would limit of the lengthening of the jacket sleeves based on the amount of fabric allowance and lining inside he suit jacket as well as the pants waist. I explained that lengthening the sleeve would alter the look of the jacket as opposed to shortening it and showed him an example of that in my shop. The alterations needed on the pants were hemming of the pants legs and letting out the waistline, which are fairly standard and common alterations in this business.I quoted [redacted] a price of $80.00 to perform these alterations on his suit. [redacted] squabbled at that price and only offered $60.00 for these services. I agreed to this based on the fact that [redacted] was going to bring 2 more suits to me for alterations. I run my business and treat my clients with respect and offer better pricing for more items per appointment in order to retain repeat business and acquire new clients. But money seemed to be an issue with this client from the beginning. I gave him his receipt and it was dated 11/4/2014 and wrote on the receipt to call me in one week. I did not promise him that the suit would be done sooner than 11/11/2014.In the interim, [redacted] had stopped by my shop unannounced twice prior to 11/11/2014 to check on the progress of his suit. I told him that the suit would not be done any sooner than the 11th of November and that was the basis of my instructions to call me on that date. The alterations on his suit were completed by 11/13/2014, which was only 9 days after I received the suit. That is adequate turnaround time for these services and no promise was made to the customer that it would be done any sooner. There was no mentioning of expedited service or an urgency of need on [redacted] part.  Pricing for expediting services, pressing, or steaming of garments would have been at an additional cost or fee negotiated at the time of drop off.[redacted] came in on 11/13/2014 after I called him and told him the suit was ready for pickup. I insisted that he try on the suit, as I do all of my customers, to ensure that the services I provided were done correctly and that they are completely satisfied prior to leaving my shop. He was happy with the work that was done, shook my hand and left.Within a couple of days after picking up his suit, [redacted] called and made claim that I ruined his suit I was completed taken back by his claim and replied that I am a professional tailor and have never ruined any of my clients garments. He requested a full refund of his money. I refused his request and explained to him that any reputable tailor would have done these alterations in the same manner and the results would be the same. His reply was "Thank you for explaining that to me, and have a blessed day".[redacted] called yet again the next day and questioned the price per sleeve for an alteration. I replied that I do not charge per sleeve because alteration are typically done in pairs (two sleeves, lets, etc...).Once again I did not understand the reason for his call, because we just had a discussion about his alteration the previous day. [redacted] apparently was grasping for straws and trying to find fault in the quality of my work.He then asked for a $20.00 refund for no known reason. I simply denied his request and was insulted when he asked for all of his money back claiming once again that I ruined (destroyed, mutilated, made unrepairable) his suit. Grasping for straws once again, determined to get more than he paid for, [redacted] stated that if I would do alteration on his other two suits for nothing that he would not write a negative review about my business. At that point I knew that this customer was trouble and why would he want me to do  more sewing services if his first experience was so terrible and I supposedly ruined his suit?
In closing I have to say that in my 35 years of professional sewing, I have a lot of repeat business quality cliental and a very good reputation for the quality of my sewing talents and skills as a tailor.
Respectfully,

Review: I would like to share my experience at Sew Xtreme for my wedding dress alterations. I went to Sew Xtreme to get my dress altered. The owner had me put on the dress and pinned the bottom for the length. After I took the dress off she then told me how much it was going to cost, she said it would cost $400 so I decided to take it to [redacted] to get a second opinion. I had to make an appointment with [redacted]. Between the time that it took to get an appointment with [redacted], the owner of Sew Xtreme called twice but I didn't get to [redacted] yet. [redacted] quoted me $200, half the price of Sew Xtreme for the same job. The owner said I still had to pay her $40 for the half an hour that she took pinning the dress. She called again and I explained the price from [redacted], she said that if I don't give her the money she was going to take me to court and that she always wins when she goes to court then hung up on me. I am going to pay her for the half an hour that she put in, I just feel that she should have given me a price quote before she started to work and that she should have had me sign a form or contract. I just want to warn potential clients to get a price quote ahead of time before you realize how much she charges.Desired Settlement: I don't need a settlement of any sort, I just want the information to be advertised to potential customers to please get a price quote before she does any work because she will still charge you for it even if you don't sign anything or know of her $80 hourly charge.

Review: The sleeves on the suit coat I brought to Sew Xtreme for alteration/tailoring were ruined. The pants of the suit were poorly hemmed straight, even though cuffs were requested. None of the factory creases were pressed out. Even the time frame in which the suit was to be finished was delayed twice. The entire experience was sloppy and unprofessional. A complete refund was asked for to no avail. Then an attempt for a partial refund was requested, but was not furnished. After taking pictures of the work Sew Xtreme completed the suit was taken to another tailor and fixed. The tailor who reworked the suit was shocked by its condition when it was brought to him. As a result of Sew Xtreme's inability to tailor a suit properly and work with customers when something needs to be corrected, it cost a total of $127 to get a suit tailored.Desired Settlement: I desire the complete cost ($60) to be refunded.
