Revdex.com:
I wish to withdraw complaint ID [redacted].  I have been in touch with the owner of Sewer Rooter, Inc., and the matter has been resolved to my satisfaction.  I am no longer seeking a refund.  My house had both internal plumbing and...

external sewer line blockages.  Sewer Rooter originally provided service pertaining to the internal plumbing blockage, which was independent of the external blockage.  To Sewer Rooter's credit, the company honored its 6-month warranty and returned to my home tonight to re-treat the internal blockage even after I had commenced this dispute.  They acted responsibly and professionally.  If you must post my original complaint, please be sure to post this retraction.

Sincerely,

Review: On Friday evening September **, 2015 a man and his brother came to my home to repair a few plumbing issues we were having. We paid cash on invoice # [redacted] for the replacement of the guts of the upstairs toilet and to fix a leak in the basement toilet. On the morning of Sunday September [redacted] we returned home from church to find our ceiling leaking all the way into our basement from the upstairs bathroom. There was not a leak prior to their visit or I would have had it addressed in the fist business encounter. We called the plumber immediately and were told that they would be over right away to fix the toilet and talk to us about the needed drywall repair. The plumber never showed. We called Multiple times and found that they had blocked both my husband and my phone number. When we dialed from a different number the call would connect. We would be put on long holds and told someone would come and have continuous no shows all while having no use of a toilet in our upstairs bathroom. After dozens of calls finally today October *, 2015 the same plumber finally arrived (6 hours late). He did stop the leak and acknowledged it was his mistake that the leak occurred while we were talking during the repair. He said he would talk to his employer and we would work out a solution. He went out to his van and talked on the phone and came back in my home to tell me they are not liable for the damage to the drywall, this just after he had said it was his fault. I brought up the difference in his comments and he walked out and left my home. I followed him out to get a better explanation and a picture of the van for proof of the poor service. He began running and folded his license plate. I approached to get a picture of the plate and he forcibly pushed me away. 3 times he pushed me away calling me obscenities and folding the license plate more. He pushed me out of the way and got into his van and sped off which I caught on video. He was mean, dishonest and aggressive.Desired Settlement: I would like the drywall repaired by a company of my choosing since they cannot be trusted to do honest business and I'd like an apology for his physical aggression and the 2 and 1/2 weeks we went without the use of our bathroom.

Review: On or about the night of August **, 2013, our main sewer line backed up. Raw sewage was rising into our basement slop sink and into our first floor shower. The toilets would not work. I called multiple 24-hour plumbers using the White Pages, and Sewer Rooter was the first one available. They advised me of the service call fee (less than $200) and I agreed. [redacted] showed up. He was pleasant, though very young. He snaked my shower and snaked my main sewer line using the commercial grade / industrial strength snake. No success. He claimed my line was clogged with construction debris. My house was under renovation at the time, so it sounded like a plausible reason. I asked him to write that on the bill so that I could take that issue up with my contractor at a later date. I asked what else he could do, and he said for an additional fee of (approximately) $400 he would blow compressed air through the line, or for an additional fee of (approximately) $1800 he would use a high-pressure water jet. I authorized him to use the air pressure. No success. I authorized him to use the high pressure water jet, and it seemed to clear the problem. I was happy. He gave me a 6-month guarantee.

I told my contractor. He denied that his men poured plaster down the pipes. He said my problem was tree roots penetrating into my main sewer line. Others echoed his conclusion. I asked about the water pressure hose. He said it would offer a temporary fix only, by pushing the blockage a few feet but no more. He was right ....

Three weeks later, the problem recurred only this time much worse. I called Sewer Rooter and [redacted] showed up again. I explained what happened, and he said we were the "one in a million" case where there is an inside and outside blockage. He used air pressure and it seemed to clear the blockage. It only provided a very short term relief.

Three DAYS later, the problem recurred again. I called another sewer contractor and he used a sewer scope and confirmed that the blockage was caused by tree roots penetrating into the main line, and the only way to correct the problem if a snake wouldn't cut though it was to excavate and replace the main line. And there is the basis of my complaint with Sewer Rooter. Sewer Rooter NEVER suggested once that we inspect the line using a sewer scope. In fact, I didn't even know such a service existed. Sewer Rooter's website lists camera inspection as one of its services, but it was never offered or even raised as a possibility. Had that service been performed, we would have concluded that excavation was necessary (the snake already having failed), and I would not have wasted over $1,800 on a pointless service that had absolutely no chance of working.

Three nights ago, I called Chase, which issued the Visa card that I used to pay for the service. I tried to set up a billing dispute, conveying all of the facts above. While I waited on hold, Chase called Sewer Rooter. The Chase account representative returned shortly, telling me that the person on the line simply hung up on him.

I personally called called Sewer Rooter on Saturday, and asked to speak with [redacted]. I was told his name is [redacted] (I recall that [redacted] is his younger brother), and that he would be in on Monday (today). This person asked me what it was about, and I vaguely told him that I had a service issue and would want to seek a refund, but I politely told him that I wanted to speak to [redacted] as only he would be able to resolve my issue. He asked for my address and I gave it to him, and then said I would be calling back on Monday.

Today (Monday), I called. A woman answered "service". When I asked for [redacted] by name, she said there was no such person. I tried again, and was met by confusion when I asked if I had reached Sewer Rooter. I checked the number again and again and still the person who answered denied that it was Sewer Rooter or it went to voicemail. I suspect that my phone number was written down from the other day when I called and said I would be calling back to seek a refund.

So now I am bringing my complaint to the Revdex.com.Desired Settlement: I want a full refund of the high-presser water jet (plus tax), which was in excess of $1,800. I will not seek a refund of the underlying service call charge, as that was legitimately earned.

Review: Sewer rooter originally came to fix an issue with our shower. Upon attempting to change out the fixtures, tiles were removed. The company fixed the fixture, and returned a few days later to put new tiles. During this time, we were without use of our shower. Once the tiles were installed and had dried, we realized that many were cracked, the work was uneven and many tiles surrounding the fixture was sunken in. Our shower could not be used for fear of water getting within the walls. For a week, the company kept promising to return and fix the work. They eventually stopped returning phone calls. We tried multiple opportunities to fix the work and just got broken promises.Desired Settlement: We would like the money returned that was paid for the tile work in order to have another comany complete the work, seeing as they are unable and unwilling to fix their mistakes.
