First off, I'd like to state that John D[redacted] Construction Co. does not have the 35+ yrs. experience stated on their website. The company is no longer run by Mr. D[redacted] who was probably a good Contractor/Carpenter in his younger days but is now retired. His son John D[redacted] runs the company but will use his dad's influence from time to time to get jobs. Don't be fooled by them telling you John [redacted] will lead the project! They will only say this as an aid to gain your business. John [redacted] will have little involvement due to his age and ailments. Pay attention to how recent the Revdex.com file open date is "July 2016" but the business has been open since the year 2003.
Enough about that, let's move to the quality of work done with the "new guys in place". From my understanding, the tool commonly referred to as a Level should be used by Carpenters on a regular basis when framing....not these guys!!!! I'm not exaggerating when I tell you that I had to inform the Crew more times than I can remember that something was not straight. I'm still suffering to this date with a closet frame that has a "bow" in it. I'll probably have to pay to get it reframed just to hang the door...........piss poor work and by the way I have never done ANY Carpentry work but had to constantly point out things that were almost 1" or so off "REALLY"! I had to run these guys off because of various issues (too many headaches to cover here) and pay other guys to go over a lot of the work that was done. They even damaged some of my existing items and refused to get it fixed correctly or replace them......really not the kind of company you want to deal with. Anyone wanting to chat about my experience, the Revdex.com has my info and I'd be glad to share my experience with you. I would never want to negatively impact someone's business unless it was absolutely necessary. I held off from writing this review for almost a year, but after discovering the bow in the closet frame that was the final straw. There is no way an experienced Carpenter would have made this type of error.....these guy will hire anyone straight off the street and I mean that!
I do believe things would have gone a lot smoother if John [redacted] were able to oversee the project.....but that was not the case. My advice to others, get referrals and look at a few projects that the Contractor has completed before hiring anyone. Also remember, a good Revdex.com score alone means nothing. Take the time and do your homework.
