Unreliable, unprofessional. Do not use this contractor. Will keep putting you off till you give up. Kept changing our quote, kept giving excuse after excuse. He will say "you're hard to work with" and call you "crazy" because you contact him for updates. He never once initiated with an update. It was me contacting him every time every 10+ days after not hearing back. He either won't get back to you till you try again in a few days or he will feed you another lie to keep you along for the ride. If he promises to be back, do not fall for it.
The work he did on the floor itself was sub par, if you really take the time to look there's space showing in areas where the baseboards meet the LVT. The stairs are a complete disaster. Didn't seal off where the fireplace meets the LVT. A longer list of messy work definitely exists but I'm sure the points across. Run while you can.
I don't think that everyone sees eye to eye in alot of situations, but I have about 20,000 happy customers you know that slandering me on here is not right when you try holding out for paying people what do you think happens Jessica has not paid for anything that we haven't done she wanted me to buy her flooring and come reinstall her steps because of her two big dogs and she was told that this would not be guaranteed for the steps because of the way that she wanted them done. It was not cool she was trying to hold my last check on me so how do you think that I should do go back there and definitely not get paid well I don't know anyone that works for free do you? I'm not going to argue with someone that is not happy about her misjudgment of what her expectations were about her stairs. When you are in this kind of business you have to take the good with the bad I think... thanks for your looking at both sides of the spectrum now ð??
My statement is not slander because it is all true. If the Revdex.com would like to see our texts back and forth for the past 5 months they are more than welcome to.
I never asked you to buy more flooring for the steps. You were buying more flooring for the master closet and master bathroom, which I agreed to pay for and you never came back.
So while we're waiting for him to get this vinyl in... The stairs were not finished, I have proof of this. Besides them not being finished... I told Shawn the noses he put on weren't staying on and the undersides of the planks weren't ever put on. He at that time said he would have to see what he could do about it because he couldn't guarantee the stairs if they were going to fall apart. He had been planing to come back and fix things for MONTHS, I have proof of this as well. The original plan was for a carpet runner to be used down the stairs and that apparently wasn't going to look good (after he had me buy the carpet for it) so we decided to go with JUST vinyl as long as he could install it properly. It sounded like he knew he was doing, but the stairs are falling apart because shoe treads and dog nails can get stuck in between where the vinyl planks meet up. They are basically just brad nailed on there after his attempt to just glue it on failed. I also have statements from other professionals who install floors that say his work is subpar and even painful to look at. If you would like the names of those people, I can get those for you.
The last check he is talking about was because the job wasn't finished. I told him I wasn't comfortable giving him a last check because he wasn't done. He then threatened to not come back so I gave in. He was supposed to come back when the second shipment of vinyl came in. I would have then paid for the extra vinyl and the rest that was owned once the master closet and master bathroom was finished. The master bathroom and master closet was included in the original bid so why am I paying a final payment if it's not done? Because I was bullied into it. He said he didn't know if he wanted to come back if I wasn't going to pay in full (even if the job wasn't done).
I've found 3 different customers of Shawn's in 24 hours stating they had the same problems with him that I have had. If you want to bring them into this they are more than willing. I've found out the Nebraska department of Labor doesn't even have him registered as a contractor of any kind let alone licensed. His information was being forwarded to a supervisor for further investigation.
There is just too much dirt on this guy to ignore... red flags everywhere.
Shawn was referred to us by a friend of ours. He was great to work with and flexible with our schedule! Did a fantastic job at a great rate. We will be using his services again and referring him to everyone.
