On Oct 09, 2018 *** from Shademaker Blinds came to my house at *** at 4:30 p.m. for a window blind/shade consultation. I put a deposit down of $2,700 on the order#*** so that it can be processed. My husband and I reviewed the order later during the week and found some errors and areas of concern on the order #*** for $3,928.29. The measurements of our windows were off, which made the pricing questionable and the invoice was messy and hard to follow.
On Sunday Oct 14, 2018 I phoned and left a voice mail for ***. On Monday Oct 15, 2018 I phoned *** to voice my concerns about the order. I told her we would like to cancel the order because of the errors we found. Immediately she started to raise her voice at me, she said that she will not cancel the order and she will not give me a refund. Repeatedly I asked her to calm down, and told her there was no need to get upset. She said that she will drop the blinds off at my front door and I must pay her the difference.
*** further went on to say that I had no business getting the measurements of the window, because she doesn't give that information to her customers and that my case was the only exception. *** told me that she came to my house and give me an order she won't let me cancel it. Without warning, she hung up the phone on me.
Later on during the day *** emailed me (I have it all on record) asking me to drop off the copy of the order and place it in her mail box. *** also wrote in her email that the blinds have been "made" and I can contact *** when I am ready to get the blinds installed. ***, the office Manager also emailed me later that day and contracted ***'s earlier email by saying that the order has been "placed" and they will not cancel it or refund me my deposit.
I would like to have Shademaker Blinds refund my credit card by $2,700.
The complainant contacted Shademaker Blinds for window coverings. We provided a free consultation and professional window measure and we also install the window coverings once they are shipped to us. The complainant ordered the custom window coverings she chose, providing a deposit and signed a binding contract stating that all sales are custom in nature and therefore final. Her custom order was placed within 24 hours and put into production. The complainant decided 6 days later to call and cancel. She was told that we can not cancel her order as they are already being made, that the custom blinds are guaranteed to fit her windows and any blinds do not fit will be ordered again to fit. We have copies of all email correspondence and we only asked for her to please return the custom samples to our office mailbox as she still has them, not a copy of her invoice as she has stated in the complaint. *** it is our policy not to give deposit refunds. Under Sask Consumer we are protected by this. To our knowledge there are no adding mistakes on her invoice. We have double checked the addition for her and it is all correct. We believe the complainant has buyers remorse and unfortunately we cannot do anything about it after 6 days. ***. If the complainant decides she is unhappy with her window coverings after she receives them, we would offer to put 50% of her purchase towards the purchase of new blinds of her choice.

***. There is no signature or date by myself or *** on the order. As mentioned her math was wrong, the order was messy and her measurements were off. *** did not leave any of her samples in my possession, as was claimed. I simply took a photo of the product I was interested in to show my husband.
