Complaint ID [redacted] We understand families have financial hardships which is why we offer a scholarship program and that is also why we post the application, sliding scale, etcpublicly on our website, so perspective parents have access to that information which could help them make their decision on whether or not to enroll their child(ren)This parent was informed that I, personally, do not determine the discount amount for scholarship-eligible familiesOur Executive Director determines that rate based on the financial information that she receivesHowever, since all necessary information is posted on our website, all parents interested in a scholarship could get an idea of what we could offer based on the number of people in the household, monthly Income, etc.The $per week copay that is referenced are copays that are determined by CCIS, a state subsidy, and are not scholarship rates, Those rates are not determined by Shady Lane

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear belowAgain, since dealing with [redacted] after May 31st for all cost/money transactions, the argument about deposits are not being given back after May is irrelevant and null and void I need to have the entire amount refunded as to close this matter, otherwise, I will continue these procedures or further Regards,

RE: Response to claim # [redacted]Shady Lane School prides itself on transparency. All of our information regarding fees, tuition, scholarships and other financial information is found on our website. It is also given to parents when they tour the school. This parent did not tour the school but relied...

instead on information she gathered on our website. The scholarship application she filled out was found on the website where the information regarding tuition scholarships and all fees and deadlines are also published. This parent chose to pay the non-refundable deposit after stating to her over the phone that it was nonrefundable after May 31st. This parent should have been able to determine that their monthly tuition would be approximately $1180 given our maximum scholarship available is 30%. This information is clearly stated on the website and she had all the knowledge she needed to make an informed decision.Shady Lane has not withheld information from this parent. She was apprised repeatedly regarding fees, deadlines and non-refundable deposits after the deadline. We did agree to refund $250 for her youngest child as that classroom is not fully enrolled at this writing.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. Again, since dealing with [redacted] after May 31st for all cost/money transactions, the argument about deposits are not being given back after May 31 is irrelevant and null and void.  I need to have the entire amount refunded as to close this matter, otherwise, I will continue these procedures or further.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Complaint ID [redacted]Hello, I am responding to Shady Lane regarding my complaint.  The BASE tuition prices are on the website HOWEVER what [redacted] failed to mention in her response is, I asked her in one of our many phone conversations if she could give me an estimate of what my children's tuition would be counting the scholarship and sliding scale based on my income.  She could NOT provide this price, she said until the enrollment balance was paid which makes absolutely no sense to myself, as well as every similar establishment I have had to communicate with since then, including my sons Behavior Support Specialist and Insurance Coordinator.   How can a parent know if they can or can not afford to send their child to a school if they do not know the exact pricing?    I was electing to send my children to Shady Lane mainly based off of the (at the time) recommendations of 1 cousin of mine and 1 friend of mine, parents with children in Shady Lane who were pleased and had given them a good report.  That is why I did not deem it necessary to view the school before enrolling them (as they tried to point out as to depict me as a parent who is not fully involved in such an important decision like this).  These parents also have told me they are considering pulling their children out of the school based on this hassle I am being given, along with the upcoming staff changes they feel will leave the school lacking proper structure and guidance, as well as their new no peanut rule as they have picky eaters whom PB&J is their main staple,  but this is neither here nor there.  I can not go to the grocery store to buy an item, be assumed able to purchase it, yet not know what the grand total is until after it is rung up and the cost is now mine.  I do not know the rules in which Shady Lane bases their sliding scale as I know 2 different mothers who pay just $53 dollars per week (and they have different verified income amounts) for which I was asked to be able to pay more than double that if broken down weekly for just one of my children.   If they do not change or fluctuate this rate based on numerous things whether they know the person, current school family, or whatever, why did [redacted] ask me what would be the amount I would be able to afford to pay, say she would speak to the director and then say she would get back to me.  Which the amount I could afford obviously was not accepted.  As dated on the emails back and forth between us, I dealt with Shady Lane ([redacted]) after May 31st regarding all payment inquiries being sent therefore this entire rule against refunding balances in this case should therefore be null and void.   Since speaking to others about this situation, as I will continue to do if this is not rectified, I am continually hearing of the decline in reputation that Shady Lane has had in the past few years so on top of this situation, I am glad my children will not be attending here.  I just want the full $500 refunded please. Thank you,[redacted]

We understand families have financial hardships which is why we offer a scholarship program and that is also why we post the application, sliding scale, etc. publicly on our website, so perspective parents have access to that information which could help them make their decision on whether or not to enroll their child(ren). This parent was informed that I, personally, do not determine the discount amount for scholarship-eligible families. Our Executive Director determines that rate based on the financial information that she receives. However, since all necessary information is posted on our website, all parents interested in a scholarship could get an idea of what we could offer based on the number of people in the household, monthly Income, etc.The $53 per week copay that is referenced are copays that are determined by CCIS, a state subsidy, and are not scholarship rates, Those rates are not determined by Shady Lane.
