I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me Per my conversation with Scott today we have arranged to have one of Shady Maple's technicians evaluate the damage and I will also get an second opinionIn addition the technician will be removing the lock assembly and taking it to a lock smith, covering the hole with tapeI pray the lock will be fixed the same day and a fair decision is rendered on the damages resulting from the slide out and the sharp object tearing the floor that was never removed according to the initial invoice repairsrepairs6/12/

Hello [redacted], We have received the complaint with an ID of [redacted]. Attached is the bill of sale showing the purchase price of $8,000.00 which included repairs to the slide floor along with the sliding door latch along with other repairs.  As you will see the value of the...

repairs far exceeded the $2,000.00 that was agreed to for the repairs.  The actual repairs equaled $5,615.51.  Please note that the repairs were done at our internal rate of $59.00 per hour not our posted rate of $89.00 per hour at the time.    The customer was charged the agreed upon $2,000.00.  I would like to address the complaint on a per item basis. 1.  Sliding door latch.  The customer is correct on this matter.  We are just as frustrated with this issue as the customer is. We also should of suggested a different solution to this issue.   We have ordered multiple door latches and have yet to receive one from the manufacturer that fits this door and have been told that the door latch is no longer manufactured.  Parts for older trailers can be difficult.   We suggest one of two solutions, we reimburse the customer for the door latch repair.  $118.00.  Or we can explore the possibility of a locksmith replacing the tumbler and providing keys.     2.  Slide floor repair.  Over 80 hours were spent on replacing the slide room floor along with repairing the seal and caulking that had leaked and caused the rot.  At the time of delivery the floor was solid and nothing was tearing a hole in the floor.  Trailers require regular maintenance.  We recommend to all customers that roofs, slide seals and caulking be checked twice a year at a minimum in order to prevent water damage.  This service has never been requested by the customer nor was there any report of a problem with the slide floor during the warranty period.  (30 days)   3.  I was contacted concerning consignment of the customer's trailer.  There was no mention of the issues during that conversation.  Our consignment program requires a $250.00 inspection of the trailer.  Any needed repairs would need to be addressed before the trailer is accepted for consignment.  Our consignment dollar value to the customer is calculated from the [redacted] Dealer Wholesale Value Guide.  Unfortunately the value on Trailers decline almost ever quarter.   We will await a response concerning the door latch.  Sincerely,Scot A**General ManagerShady Maple RV###-###-####

We are very sorry that the customer has rejected our offer and we fully understand that we dropped the ball on the door lock.  Again, multiple locksets were ordered and none to date have fit the trailer.  The best and most reasonable fix is to have a locksmith replace the tumbler and key set of which we are willing to arrange and pay for. Our offer to have one of our technicians look at the slide room issue and evaluate it is still available.  Please note that this trailer was sold with a 30 day warranty.  No record of a slide issue was reported during the 30 day warranty period.  The customer took possession of the trailer in the spring of 2013.  We are well past the 30 day warranty.  However, we are willing to look at the slide and evaluate it for further comment and or action on our behalf.  We made an offer to sell the trailer on consignment at a value that follows our consignment procedure.  We do not repurchase sold trailers.
