Schaffer Automotive Repair is one of the most horrible companies I have ever dealt withWe live in a condo complex, and live in constant fear of having our vehicles towed if we accidentally leave them parked "out of the green zone" one minute past 11pmIt was bound to happen that one of us was going to be towed, which is not the issueThe issue I have is with the horrendous customer service that I have received, as well as the shady business practices that myself or my room mates have experienced first handShaffer is more than willing to come driving through the neighborhood at 11:01, but CANNOT be reached by phone anytime that is not during business hours, Which are 9am-4pmI know as a fact that there is someone working outside of business hours, managing the trucks that are rolling through the neighborhoods like mine at all hours of the night looking for the slightest infractionWhen you are impounded by this company, not only do you have to pay the astronomically high towing fee of $300, you also suffer lost wages due and time out of work due to not being able to retrieve your vehicle until 9AM! This is not even the worst part about Shaffer AutomotiveMy Room mate recently went out to move his motorcycle just a minute after 11pm, only to find it being towed, and was only able to get it released from the driver after making a $cash only payment directly to the driverHe then demanded a receipt for the payment which the driver was very reluctant to give, and I can almost guarantee that the driver copy never made it in to the office for their recordsAny HOA or business that contracts Schaffer Automotive and Towing should seriously reconsider after reading the many and star reviews the company has online, and hearing about the abominable business practices and service that the victims of their scam receiveAll this company does is serve to drive away homeowners and renters from neighborhoods that employ their services

and both of these instances the vehicle owner was parked on the street and management requested us to tow their vehicle. The tr iler park has very strict parking rules throughout the community. We the towing company does not make these rules and get all of our instruction through the management at the office.
The first tow we refunded $50.00 of the $150.00 discounted charge to help them in their situation.
The second tow they paid $25.00 which was then also refunded to them in full.
We took the time to educate the individual and her daughter on the parking rules of the community and also encouraged them to go in and speak to the office manager at the trailer park to get further assistance on the parking rules so they do not get towed again in the future.

Schaffer Automotive Repair is one of the most horrible companies I have ever dealt with. We live in a condo complex, and live in constant fear of having our vehicles towed if we accidentally leave them parked "out of the green zone" one minute past 11pm. It was bound to happen that one of us was going to be towed, which is not the issue. The issue I have is with the horrendous customer service that I have received, as well as the shady business practices that myself or my room mates have experienced first hand. Shaffer is more than willing to come driving through the neighborhood at 11:01, but CANNOT be reached by phone anytime that is not during business hours, Which are 9am-4pm. I know as a fact that there is someone working outside of business hours, managing the trucks that are rolling through the neighborhoods like mine at all hours of the night looking for the slightest infraction. When you are impounded by this company, not only do you have to pay the astronomically high towing fee of $300, you also suffer lost wages due and time out of work due to not being able to retrieve your vehicle until 9AM! He then demanded a receipt for the payment which the driver was very reluctant to give, and I can almost guarantee that the driver copy never made it in to the office for their records. Any HOA or business that contracts Schaffer Automotive and Towing should seriously reconsider after reading the many 1 and 0 star reviews the company has online, and hearing about the abominable business practices and service that the victims of their scam receive. All this company does is serve to drive away homeowners and renters from neighborhoods that employ their services.

this company handled my towing situation terribly they scheduled me for an appointment at 2:30 and did not show up till 2:50 and the employee that I spoke to answered the door pretty rude. They did not abide by Tempe laws( section 32 ) put in place in 2009 which state that they should of filed police report or notified the operator of vehicle which they did not do. outside the front door is a bunch of cigarette buds and there was spiders and spider webs all along the patio the customer service was terrible strongly considering legal action.

I have had two extremely horrible experiences with this company on two different occasions. The first time they towed me from my mothers home while I was dropping something off to her when she wasn't even aware that it was even possible for me to be towed. They charged a drop fee of $150 and gave us a receipt with the incorrect address and phone number. The second time I was in my mothers house for less then 6 minutes and they had lied to me and said they were in front of the house second over from my mothers watching me which they weren't. They then tried to charge me a $75 drop which is strange how it went from $150 to $75. I didn't have that in cash so they let me get by with $25 and they weren't going to give me a receipt at all until I asked for one. They also told me if were parked in the rocks in my mothers driveway they will tow every single car that is in the driveway.

This towing company is a complete sham. They leave a number advertising 24hr access; however, you cannot even leave a message as their mailbox is full. Obviously the longer they have your vehicle the more money they make. We finally got someone on the phone and had to make an appointment. She gave an address and we did a mapquest; however, the actual location is extremely hidden. Luckily we made it close to our appointment time as they have a sign posted that if your are late there is a $25 charge.

Shady and dishonest. Very bad experience

Shaffer Automotive was assigned by my insurance carrier for to tow my disabled vehicle. The scheduled service call arrived on time. The operator was professional and courteous. After modifying his tow truck for my AWD vehicle he delivered my vehicle to my requested automotive repair shop.
