Patient's Care Credit account was refunded in the amount of $7,on August 4, Patient's deposit that she paid our office using a Visa in the amount of $was also refunded by the credit card company and fees were applied back to patients credit cardPer our surgical financial policy any surgery that is cancelled or rescheduled for any reason, the less then days notice prior to their surgery ALL FEES paid will be non-refundableThis is to reimburse our office for costs incurred for the office visits including pre-operative work up, ekg, lab work and anesthesia exam.Patient signed and agreed to this agreement, please see attached signed agreementOur office is disputing the refund of the deposit back to the Via card and we are holding patient responsible for this $2,non refundable fee. The deposit is non-refundable and patient was notified of thisDr***, the anesthesiologist and the office staff spent a great deal of time preparing for her surgery including a pre-operative exam performed by Dr*** performed a week prior to surgery which includes photosAlso, there is "no charge" for the EKG because all these fees are included in the non refundable depositWe do not intend to pursue the balance of the $7,but the non refundable deposit is due and payable now.Truly,Billing Department
I am rejecting this response because:I understand your financial policy Ms. [redacted] INFACT my signature on that policy is to “show” that I do understand, however your policy does not state that by signing it means that I AGREE. I do not agree, and I did not sign any sort of contract indicating that I agree with such financial policy. Therefor I will not be paying any deposit. I cancelled due to medical reasons, I have a letter from my primary doctor advising that I do not get the surgery and it was not respected. Your office and doctor went against my doctor’s health concerns towards me. I’d like to know what “great deal of time” it took your anesthesiologist to prepare for my surgery please? Do you mean the 15-30 minutes she took ask me questions? The anesthesiologist, Dr. [redacted] who was supposed to sedate me ended up not wanting to. Per [redacted] the coordinator from the Folsom office stated that it was out of her comfort level and so then it would have to be a different anesthesiologist which I never met nor spoke with. With that being said, again...your anesthesiologist did not have to prepare for anything.Wait, so is there a charge for the Ekg or not? You say, there is no charge because all those fees are included in the non-refundable deposit. So then there is a charge. It’s just included in the fee. The Ekg you can bill my insurance and get $3.00 paid for it, I believe that’s how much they pay.[redacted] although we have been going back and forth over this matter, and I am sure you and your staff might be frustrated, I will thank doctor/billing dept. for no longer wanting to collect/charge me the $7,800. It would have been absurd to want to charge me $7,800 and then send me to collections like your doctor and [redacted] wanted to. Please understand that I only cancelled for fear for my life with all that happened, I never knew that I’ve had and still have abnormal heart rhythm, and it really did frighten me. I just wish that Dr. [redacted] could understand and respect that. I cancelled a surgery in which I was very excited for and had been wanting since I was 18 years old (27 now) due to medical concerns, the anesthesiologist not being in her comfort level to assist in the surgery, and because my doctor was against it the minute he seen the abnormal EKG and even after I was cleared for surgery.My signature on that policy indicates that I have read and understood financial policy, not that I agree. -Please reply to this subject if there will another response.
