Mr [redacted] purchased this Nissan [redacted] back in May, while the vehicle was in perfect running conditioningIt is unfortunate that used vehicles sometimes do break down and require repairsWe, as a small business, cannot provide warranties on low priced older vehiclesA new vehicle costing $25,to $40,will provide a year warrantie, and that is an option Mr [redacted] could have gone with Mr [redacted] 's mother,***, contacted us demanding a full refund after months of ownership, but could not tell us what was the needed repairsI told her that taking your vehicle to a dealer can be a lot more expensive than taking it elsewhereI could have given her advice if she know what was wrong guarantees and warranties is not something that we offer our customersWe make it very clear that all vehicles are sold and that the vehicles are out of warranty periodsAnd that the responsibility falls on the new owners

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2014/03/11) */
We explained to Mr*** that December has been a traditionally slow time at the Dept of Motor Vehicle because of low staff due to the HolidaysThe vehicle was purchased by his daughter, *** ***The title has been available
for over a week and we have called him numerous times with no responseAll we need is Mr*** to answer his phone and pick up his daughters title if that is what he wants
Final Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2014/03/14) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
After not getting the title weeks later,I gave Shaka Boyz a call saying I did not get the title and gave me that excuse that you read in their response initially.(they said it would take 4-weeks at first)Because I didn't get the title, they told me sometimes it takes 6-weeks.So I gave them the benefit of a doubt and trusted that it would come, since I don't know the rules or regulations concerning when I should be receiving the title by.Now more weeks go by and again no title.Again,I give them a call, asking what happened. This time they're blaming *** and waiting for them to get the title. At this point I didn't understand how the *** were involved in this. But I persisted in calling them,Feb.18th,19th,20th and 21st and got no real answer. But on the 21st *** offers to do the safety check renewal for us because I was concerned about being pulled over for an expired safety check(Dec.2013,yellow sticker with a 12).So *** tells us to bring the car in on Monday or Tuesday(the 24th or 25th).My daughter brings the car down on the 25th and waits for it to be done. When they bring the car back, the safety check wasn't done. They said the IPad and printer was down. But when I got home from work that evening,I noticed they removed the Decsticker and put a March sticker(blue sticker with a 3) illegally! So we won't have the pink and yellow safety check slip for the March sticker. And we also don't have the safety check slips for the Decsticker.Because of these things going on(missing safety check slips and no title) I felt I needed to confront them in person and did so March 1st.I wanted a refund but was refused so I made a call to the police so they could interrogate them.I asked the officer to run a check on the plates and found out that the safety check actually expired in Feband not Dec.2013.In response to when the title was ready,I received no calls from what I can see on my cell or home phone. My daughter did receive a message from Shaka Boyz(***) on March 6th saying that they have the title.I didn't respond right away because I was expecting it to be mailed to me but didn't get it again. So I gave them a call on March 11th,Tuesday afternoon and left a message for *** to mail the title and a copy of the two receipts for my payment for the car to us.Two days later,March 13th,I get the title but no receipts. There's more to this situation but I'm going to end it here

Mr [redacted] purchased this 2002 Nissan [redacted] back in May, while the vehicle was in perfect running conditioning. It is unfortunate that used vehicles sometimes do break down and require repairs. We, as a small business, cannot provide warranties on low priced older vehicles. A new vehicle...

costing $25,000 to $40,000 will provide a 3 year warrantie, and that is an option Mr [redacted] could have gone with.
Mr [redacted]'s mother,[redacted], contacted us demanding a full refund after 4 months of ownership, but could not tell us what was the needed repairs. I told her that taking your vehicle to a dealer can be a lot more expensive than taking it elsewhere. I could have given her advice if she know what was wrong.
guarantees and warranties is not something that we offer our customers. We make it very clear that all vehicles are sold as-is and that the vehicles are out of warranty periods. And that the responsibility falls on the new owners

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response.

Miss [redacted] purchase a [redacted] from us, Shaka Boyz Auto Sales in December 7th after test driving and checking it out.  She called the next day and said the car won't start, that she thinks it's the battery.  Since she is all the way in Waianae, we asked if she could go...

to a auto parts store and purchase a battery and we will reimburse her.  She agreed to do that, and about a week later we reimbursed her the $114.  About 2 weeks later she called us and said the car did not start again.  We asked her if she left the headlights on or if she left the air conditioning on but the engine was off.  She denied doing any of that and complained that we sold her a piece of junk.  We asked her to bring the car in so that we can have the mechanics check it out.  after about a week she still have not brought in the vehicle.  I called Miss [redacted] on 01-04-2017 and asked her why she has not brought in the car and she responded that she has another car to use, but it too is having mechanical issues.  She said the [redacted] was not running and just sitting in her driveway.  I told her to leave the keys in the car and we would send a tow truck to pick it up tomorrow, on 01-05-18.  We towed in the [redacted] and our mechanics said it started up immediately.  I told the mechanic that the customer said the vehicle has not been driven in a week,  the mechanic seemed surprise by that because he lives in Waianae and he said he sees the red [redacted] with the [redacted] sign on the roof all the time.  My mechanic holds up his cell phone and shows me a picture of the [redacted] delivering pizza on 1-2-18.  He said he took the pic to show me our recently sold vehicle delivering pizza, he thought it was funny.  Anyway, during the next 5 hours our mechanics kept starting the vehicle and each time the vehicle started right up.  We checked the electrical charging system and everything was working well.  Frustrated at not being able to have the [redacted] not start , I called Miss [redacted] and asked her to describe in more detail what type of sounds she heard when the [redacted] didn't start.  I mimicked different sounds such as a click noise or winding noise.  Miss [redacted] wasn't sure of the type of noise.  I then asked her if she took the new battery back to [redacted] to have them verify that the battery was not a faulty one.  She said she did take it back to [redacted] and they confirmed the battery is dead.  I asked her if they offered to give her another battery or offer to recharge it.  She said they did not offer anything and she took the battery back home.  She said the battery is a ONE year battery. This is extremely odd as [redacted] would always check their products to see if it was faulty, and if it was they will replace or refund your money.  They will not tell you to take a bad product back home.  We do not believe [redacted] carry ONE year batteries in the first place.  And as far as ONE year batteries go, they are very unreliable.  From our own personal experience, one year batteries are not reliable and will barely keep a charge most times.  We have returned many one year car batteries and no longer purchase them because of the many problems they present.  I Told Miss [redacted] to return the ONE year battery and get a 3 year battery.  For $114 it should have been a 3 years and not a 1 year, as 1 year batteries usually cost $55.  She insisted its not the battery and must be something else.  I told her we can run more test on Monday 1-8-18 as our mechanics are off during the weekend.  Miss [redacted] said she needs the [redacted] as her other car just developed problems, and that she will come Saturday morning 1-06-18 at 10 a.m. to retrieve the [redacted]. We hope she will get a better battery this time and hopefully this will solve the problem
