Horrible experience just now at the Shakespeare Pub on Memorial DrSome *** bartender ignored me/us who had been standing in line waiting for a long time to buy drinks and immediately goes over to serve this women who happens to be whiteShe even told him while pointing at me that I was in line before herI then asked, "yeah how could you miss the tall black guy" This short, bald dude , the temperamental bartender, with major attitude then refused to serve me accusing me of being racistReally? All because I said, kinda sorta jokingly, "yeah how could you miss the tall black guy" ***? That ain't hardly a racist commentFor one, I'm referring to myself with the "tall black guy " comment and made absolutely no racial references to or about him or his race Wonder if he was feeling guilty for his own actions or beliefs? Anyway, I caught up with the owner, Jay or Jason, to inform him of the situation and frankly he acted like he could care lessSaid he was busy and would try to look into itSituation never got resolved , jay/jason disappeared, never returned and I never got the drinkSo let me sum this up, see if I got it rightApparently when someone who patronizes Shakespeare Pub has been standing in line for minutes or longer it's okay for some *** bartender with a height complex (who is clearly uneducated about the definition of race and racism) to pass him by, go serve someone else , and when its pointed out to him rather than apologize he instead cops an attitude accusing somebody of being racist and then tries to make an example of them by refusing servicesPerhaps if anybody was displaying racism it was he! Buyer beware! I'll never go here again and neither should you
