This job was completed on 12-30-per the contracted dated 11-3-The estimator, Justin, did field a call and met with the owner onsite to address her concerns shortly after the job was completedAs far as we knew, she agreed with the
assessment of the roof at that timeThen, as now, the roof does not leak, it is structurally sound, it was completed per the contract, there is some incidental ponding in a very minimal amount that,(as she stated)is gone within hours, the warranty on the roof is unaffected by this incidental ponding of water, and the bill is due and payableWe did not hear anything from her until we contacted her in June stating that the bill would be sent to collections if it were not paidShe filed this complaint only after we contacted her stating that the bill would be going to collectionsShe has not paid any of her $5,invoice that is well over months past dueWe have documentation if it is needed(original contract, invoice, photos)We do not believe that the complaint is valid
Here is the work description contained in the contract
Tear off existing roofing to expose bare sheathing and haul debris
Install 1/4" per foot foam taper system
Install one layer of 1/4" Densdeck gypsum roof board
Install IB Roof System mechanically attached, mil single ply PVC roofing
Install new fascia trim on elevated edge
Install IB Roof System metal drip edge, and termination metal
Clean up and remove roofing debris
The work described in the contract was completedThe tapered foam system was installed to facilitate and increase drainage on the existing roofAll of the newly installed roof system is installed on the existing framing of the building and there may be some minor low spots that follow the underlying structural framingHowever, the minor ponding in any areas such as these, do not affect the warrantee or structural integrity of the roof

Initially, there was only a small pool .But subsequent rains caused the ponding to cover nearly 1/of the roof, and the water does not dissipate after hoursThere is a depression in the roof where the water sits until sun/wind dries it I was told that the roof was pitched so that the water would drain from the rear, which it never did
I realize that I should have contacted the company againIt was not my intention to avoid payingI just want the roof to drain properlyThe year warranty will do no good if by year it starts to leak

Scott Roofing has completed the contract in full as of December 30th, The customer has not done anything to hold up their end of the agreement and had not made Scott Roofing aware of non-payment due to issues outside contract specification until Scott roofing demanded payment some months after the job completionEven after completion Scott Roofing visited the job to discuss any possible issues and was never told that payment would not be forthcoming due to issues of water remaining on the roofAt that time Scott Roofing believed all concerns were addressed and satisfied
Nowhere on our contract is it stated that the tapper system, that is on the contract and installed properly, will completely "drain" or eliminate all ponding water from a roof that had major issues before we beganThe words "drain" or "drain from the rear" or any other indication to where the water would go were never on the signed contractAgain, Scott Roofing did not guaranteed or even imply this system would eliminate all evidence of water immediately anywhere on the contract signed by both parties
All city inspections are completed and manufacture and contractor warranties will be in place and unaffected by claims not associated with the signed contract after payment is made in full as stipulated as per contractCustomer was well aware of these warranties and Scott Roofing believes speculation of leaks beyond these time parameters is immaterial and unrealistic
Scott Roofing agrees not to pursue outside means of collections which will include additional fees and interest if full payment of contract amount is made expediently
