Shamrock Jewelers, Inc. Reviews (3)

On 2/5/14 I went to Shamrock Jewelers, referred by Batteries Plus, they changed the battery and broke the watch as one of the hands came off. They charged me $ 10.60 for the battery and told me to go back in a week to pick it up. I went back on 2/13 and the watch was not ready. I went back the week of the 17th and got the same answer. I tried to call them over the phone but they wouldn't give me any information. The second time an ill mannered lady said they'd call me when the watch was ready. At that point I had lost confidence in the business: they had broken the watch, they had the watch, they had my money and they had the battery and on top of that I was being treated like I was receiving a favor. I requested a refund and told them to keep the watch as I was not prepared to keep going over and over. I asked them to call me anyways when the watch is ready. The response was "we'll call you and let you know how much it is". It shouldn't be more than the price of the battery. Right? $ 10.60. As of this date I haven't heard from them.I feel it's totally unfair for any business of any kind to treat clients this way. They broke the watch and they should have the honesty to treat clients with respect and return the watch.I would have thought that Jewelers had the highest business standard and ethics. Well, not this one!Desired SettlementRepair the watch and return it. I will pay the $ 10.60The watch is not theirs!Business Response On 2/5 [redacted] came into Shamrock Jewelers with an inexpensive Tommy Hilfiger sport watch after visiting Batteries Plus. Batteries Plus could not fix the issue with his watch and told us after the fact that they accidentally broke his watch and sent him over to Shamrock Jewelers to fix their mistake. [redacted] told us all that was needed was a battery, so after inspecting and replacing the battery we also noticed the second hand was not attached. After explaining to [redacted] the situation and that we would have to take the watch in to get the second hand put back on he agreed. We also told him it could take up to a few weeks for the repair and that we would not charge him for that additional work but only would charge him for the battery replacement for $10.00 and with tax was charged on his credit card for only $10.60.After a week [redacted] called requesting his watch and we told him that the watch was with our watch maker and that as soon as it was completed we would call him to let him know the watch was completed. After 2 weeks [redacted] called back again requesting his watch and we stated again the watch was still with our watch maker and that we take in 25-30 watches a day for repair and we are doing our best to get the work completed and we would contact him very soon to let him know he could pick up his repaired watch. On 2/21 [redacted] came into the store extremely loud and upset wanting his money refunded for the battery and telling us numerous times he could care less about his watch and that we can just keep it when it comes back...he just wanted his money refunded. On 2/21 we gladly refunded his credit card for the $10.60 and we also stated we apologize for the delay but like we mentioned before we are extremely busy with watch repairs and that are watch maker told us earlier in the day his watch was completed and would be ready for him to pick up the following day. [redacted] repeated again that all he cared about was the refund and he no longer wanted the watch and that we could keep it. We attempted to explain to [redacted] that his watch was ready and we would gladly return it to him or even deliver it to his residence. But he refused to hear anything we were trying to explain and rushed out of the door.On 2/22 we received[redacted] Tommy Hilfiger completely repaired watch from the watch maker. We have attempted on numerous occasions to reach out to [redacted] telling him we had his watch and would be holding it for him, regardless of him stating he did not want the watch. Still to this day [redacted] has not reached back to us and has not returned to pick up his Tommy Hilfiger repaired watch. The owner and management have been shocked by these stated allegations by [redacted] and would like to reach back out to [redacted] and let him know once again that we still have his repaired watch and he is more than happy to return for it at no charge. We would also like to say that Shamrock Jewelers has an impeccable reputation for customer service and has never received any negative criticism in the 48 years of service throughout Palm Beach County. Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)[redacted], the owner of the business called me personally to apologise and said "they take these complains seriously" and that they had the watch they had broken all fixed for me to pick it up "free of charge". We both agreed on a Friday at 2:00 pm. I went on that Friday as agreed but [redacted] was in a meeting.I think [redacted] must be mixing cases, because he was very nice when he called me to apologise and now he comes up with a totally different story. They broke the watch. No worries. I imagine [redacted] needs my wife's inexpensive watch toresell it and make some money.Let him have it.We don't need it.However a jewelry should have higher business standards.I was never rude.I'm happy I hedged my bets and asked for a refund of the battery they had installed. Otherwise I would have lost the watch plus the $ 10.00!!!!Thanks to the Revdex.com for the opportunity of airing my complain and thanks to [redacted] for his courteous call even though he was unable to carry out his good intentions and words. I guess there are jewelers and....You can reach me any time as you did at XXX XXX XXXX or by e mail at [redacted]Now I am in Lucca, Italy for April and May.Thanks again[redacted]

Made check payment of $3,800 on one item purchased and check was returned by bank as NSF. Additional merchandise purchases of$400 has not been paid.[redacted], owner of [redacted] on Jan.24, 2015 received from me, the following items to sell: - Bulgari 18k gold watch with leather band - Baume Mercier 18k solid gold watch and band - Breitling stainless steel and gold watch with rubber band - Cartier black onyx and 18k cuff links - Mercedes Benz replica key with 14k gold top.He subsequently sold the Bulgari watch and cuff links and key and was to pay me $3,800 for the watch and $400 for the cuff links and key.On April 3, 2015 [redacted] gave me a check for $3800. The check was returned by the bank on April 8, 2015 for NSF. After many promises of making the check "good", he subsequently made a $500 payment, in cash, on April 23, 2015 and another $500 cash payment on April 24, 2015.Since the April payments there have been many promises to paythe balance due. Constant absurd excuses, of one kind or another, on why no payment was made. Even went as far as giving me a non existent Fedex tracking number, on a supposed check sent.[redacted] has returned, to me, the Baume Mercier and Breitling watches but still owes me $3200 for the Bulgari watch and the cuff links and key.Desired SettlementThe payment of $3,200 he owes me on the Bulgari watch, Cartier cuff links and the Mercedes Benz replica key.

Owner wrote me a bad check and will not answer calls now. He has my diamonds and no one is helping me to get my check cleared. Will not answer calls.I have a check dated for 2/26/15. The banks have declined this check due to insufficient funds repeatedly. The owner of Shamrock has answered a couple of calls and given me some story that tomorrow, tomorrow....it is 3/11/15 now and my calls are being forwarded to voicemail. I cannot recover the $2,800 he owes me and he won't call me or answer my calls. His staff is apologizing on his behalf, as this is incredibly unprofessional, not to mention illegal. At this point I will be forced to report the bad check to the authorities and hire legal assistance, as this has become a very serious issue.Desired Settlement$2,800 as per the check is written for. I will be seeking legal assistance by the end of the week and taking further steps to follow the correct legal process to retrieve these funds. Expect a demand letter ASAP. I will also be reporting this to the authorities by this Friday, 3/13/15, if this has not been settled.
