Thank you for the communication! We only collect a deposit when a customer wants to reserve a particular scooterIn this case it was our S[teal] of Deal promotion on a series of teal scooters we had heavily discountedThe customer put a deposit on it for us to hold it for him back in SeptemberWe have held onto the scooter for months expecting the customer to return to pay the balance and pick up his new scooterThe deposit not only reserves the scooter but also reserves the promotional price at the timeBy placing the deposit on the scooter, we were unable to sell the scooter to any other potential customer.? That is the entire purpose of a deposit.? Every customer is told the deposit is non-refundable and holds the scooter in order to prevent it from selling to someone else? I recently talked to the customer and he said he purchased a used scooter from a friendI offered to transfer the $to a service account so he can use the $on scooter service for his scooterIt sounded like this was a fair compromise and the customer gave me the impression it would be as wellWe are not obligated to do this (as the deposit was put on the purchase of a particular scooter), but the customer said circumstances had changed due to a financial hardshipMy heart went out to himLet's face it, life happens and throws a curve ball at us once in a whileI thought this was a nice little compromise that would still help him get use of the funds, but also prevent us from losing out by holding the scooter for the last months for him.It sounds like this is still not an amicable solution for the customer (hence the complaint) when I was under the impression it was, so if he would like to come to the store to meet with me and further discuss, I will be more than happy to help find a solution. Many thanks and blessings

have held onto the scooter for 2 months expecting the customer to return to pay the balance and pick up his new scooter. The deposit not only reserves the scooter but also reserves the promotional price at the time. By placing the deposit on the scooter, we were unable to sell the scooter to any other potential customer. That is the entire purpose of a deposit. Every customer is told the deposit is non-refundable and holds the scooter in order to prevent it from selling to someone else.  I recently talked to the customer and he said he purchased a used scooter from a friend. I offered to transfer the $500 to a service account so he can use the $500 on scooter service for his scooter. It sounded like this was a fair compromise and the customer gave me the impression it would be as well. We are not obligated to do this (as the deposit was put on the purchase of a particular scooter), but the customer said circumstances had changed due to a financial hardship. My heart went out to him. Let's face it, life happens and throws a curve ball at us once in a while. I thought this was a nice little compromise that would still help him get use of the funds, but also prevent us from losing out by holding the scooter for the last 2 months for him.It sounds like this is still not an amicable solution for the customer (hence the complaint) when I was under the impression it was, so if he would like to come to the store to meet with me and further discuss, I will be more than happy to help find a solution. Many thanks and blessings.
