Shank Door is new to me . I know the company via mail ads I have been with a local company for a number of years. However sometimes I am not satisfied the light did not turn off, the local company did f ix . it works for 1-2 days and the same problem recurs.
Since Shank takes over everything is working fine fix it

We have been in conversation with *** *** and have addressed the issues described in the complaint. We have come to an acceptable understanding on these issues. This complaint has been resolved

We are in the process of addressing this issue. The manufacturer is supplying replacement panels to replace the existing panels. They are also supplying additonal bracing to keep this problem from reoccuring. Once we recieve this material, we will replace the existing panels
at no cost to the customer

Review: purchased garage door that company recommended to us in september 23,2011 and in the beginning of march of 2014 we noticed a 2 inch gap at the top of the door and all 5 panels are bowed and the cable is frayed and door has rust spots coming through the paint. We called shank door up and told them and they said its because we have heat in our garage. they sent a repairman out and he said they cant fix it its a problem with the door warping towards the heat. They recommended this door for our heated garage!Company said they could use heavy braces on the door and touch up paint on rust spots! They only want to patch it up . The door is 5 year full warranty and shank has limited life time on it.Tried to contact several times but they keep pushing it around from 1 person to the other and we finally said ok we will get a lawyer or someone else to help us and they said go ahead. We paid $2600.00 for the door alone so its not a cheap door. We are very upset over this as all winter long we are loosing heat from the garage due to the gap. If the door is this bad in this short of time what is it gonna be like in another 2 years? We went with this company as we where told its a good company by many. I just would like to be able to say the same.Desired Settlement: The door carries a 5 year guaranntee. The repairman himself said we should get a new door!! If this was your door what would you want done?

We are in the process of addressing this issue. The manufacturer is supplying replacement panels to replace the existing panels. Review: Shank Door installed 2 garage door openers at my home in August 2013, and I have had problems with them not working properly since then. I have made numerous calls, and was told I had to upgrade my receiver at an additional cost. I was informed by another company, who I contacted to ask questions, that the model of openers that was installed is an older model, that is no longer in use. When I contacted Shank door, again, they said it is an older model, but claimed they were within their rights to sell me that product, that it isn't their fault if I have inteferance with my receiver. I had also mentioned I had expected to get the same model my mother had installed in 2008, because it is much nicer and quieter and the gentleman that I was speaking to couldn't answer as to why the salesman sold me the product he did. The gentleman I was speaking to was Phil, and he was very nice and tried to make me happy, and agreed to install the new receiver at a cost of about $324. So, I finally agreed as I was having so many problems with my exisiting door openers. When the installer, named Joe came, I explained my dissatisfaction and he said the the model that was currently at my home was an older model, and he was very suprised that they put that in. He asked me to let him call his boss and see what he could do, as he felt a new receiver wasn't the answer to my problems. So, in the end, Shank Door agreed to install two new upgraded door openers, as a cost to me of a little over $400. At no time was it mentioned this was an exchange or they would be taking the old equipment with them. Today, the same installer came and my boyfriend was there to let him in. He said he was taking the old equipment with him as this was an upgrade. I was VERY unhappy when I found out about this and called Shank Door. I spoke to Allan, and he said they are taking the equipment back because they only charged me for the upgrade not all new equipment and they plan on reselling what I had or reusing it. I made it perfectly clear that I felt this was wrong, because I paid for the old equipment and it should be mine. Allan didn't agree. He said they are already discounting my price and thats that. I became quite upset, and raised my voice and told him it's not my fault they installed older equipment that they wanted to get rid of. I told him I felt they are cheating me and this is very poor customer service. He said again, it's not. I told him I would be contacting the Revdex.com to tell them what crooks they are because they are keeping equipment that I paid for! At that point Allan got loud and said "hey wait a minute, why do you want equipment you hate" and I said because I paid for it! At that point in the conversation I said I will never do business with them, was contacting the Revdex.com, and I told them to get the new equipment installed and to send me a bill, because I was done with them and hung up.Desired Settlement: I feel it is very unfair that Shank Door Company took my old equipment with them, and by their own admission said they are going to reuse it or resell it. I paid for this, not Shank Door Company!! Why is it fair that they will profit from it twice? I would like my old equipment back or compensation for it. I realize they gave me an upgrade, but it was due to their installation of outdated equipment that is no longer even made. There is no reason, why they should profit from equipment, twice, that wasn't even in my home for 1 year! It is very poor customer service, and I fee as though they have taken advantage of me.
