Revdex.com: I have reviewed the offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. It is not a hidden fact that I obviously was parked in a "tow zone"; there were no "tow away zone" signs clearly put upMy father, friends and myself can verify that there were no signsCould "Shanks" really have pictures? YesCould pictures show huge 9xvisible signs even posted all around my car? YesBut in fact there were no signs when I parked there, and there were no signs when I went looking for my carYes, there are now clear visible signs put up there after I had made a complaintIt is unfortunate that "Shanks" can not recall which customer I am since I did not even notice my car was towed until AFTER 2am, my father came about 2:45am and the police, myself, my father and my friends did not leave the parking lot until 4:00amSo I would advise "Shanks" to properly resolve all issues he is having and stop confusing myself with another customer, or stop deliberately attempting to make me sound like a incompetent fabricatorHe has already insulted my father and myself, accused myself of harassing employees, coming to this company intoxicated early morning/afternoon then leaving because I was unable to drive due to intoxication, doing “burnouts” in the storage lot and while leaving the lot coming up the driveway, I have no respect for “Shanks” towing, fortunately I have respect and dignity for the other victims vehicles that were towed by “Shanks”In fact, I was only there one time and I had my car towed from Shanks by [redacted] towing back to my house so no more damage could be done to my carI had an officer at "Shanks" to make a formal police report about the damage done to my car before my car moved any distance The officer ended up staying and talking with my father and I the whole time we were there I’m not sure if “Shanks” is aware how the judicial system works, if I had pressed legal charged for prosecution, I would personally have to ask the Commonwealth to drop the charges since they would be representing myself I did not press charges I filed a police report to have it on fileWhich a report is taken by a representative of a police department and filed according to said department's procedureIt is also known as an "incident report." It is not a legal procedure that can be “dropped”; it will forever stay on file with the Fredericksburg Police DepartmentI would advise “Shanks” to reevaluate his sources before accusing me of acts that were never committed Regards, [redacted] ***

Revdex.com spoke with *** *** the vehicle was towed, however after the mistake was brought up and after speaking with reps from the the apartment complex the customer was not charged and the vehicle was able to be picked up by the owner

Worst towing company with illegal practices, They will willfully tow your car that was parked less than a minutes, wait bait and ***, and tow illegally out of parking spaces you pay for with tags in the car
Nasty people to deal with and girl is office is just down right rudeThey also ride around with children in the there trucks, office girl also has a baby on premise

No where does this address the blatant lack of customer service now does this compensate me for hours of my wasted time and stress and frustrationThe general response that was given falls into the same lackluster attitude the company had when I was trying to have this issue resolved.

I know I am past my day period but I would still like to send a response if you would allow it. I have reviewed the offer and/or response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***,
and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details
of the offer I reviewed appear belowI am unsatisfied with the response because Shanks towing did not even acknowledge my problem, or attempt to
come up with a resolutionShanks Towing simply stated that the car was sold "as is." I was already aware of this policy, and was not disputing
itHowever, the car I purchased wasn't even drivable for (One) hour! Which was the time it took me to get insurance,
and license platesTheir statement to let the public know that "If they are aware of any problems, the auctioneer will announce it during
the auction" flies in the face of factThis car had been wrecked, had a cracked radiator and never made it home
due to MAJOR mechanical issuesThe vehicles acquired by Shanks Towing are mostly through repossession, or are unclaimed towsFor them to
to offer taking the vehicle back and replacing it with a vehicle of the same value should be a no-brainerInstead, they would rather guarantee the loss of a returning customer, and any future referrals by delivering a
thoroughly negative experienceIf they have one, I will be contacting the corporate office as well

To Whom It May Concern,
"">In responce to case number [redacted]

The vehicle is a [redacted], it was towed on August 27, 2014 at 8:20 P.M.

[redacted]from the business stated that without the date of towing and the type of vehicle they are not able to pull up information about a tow. Please provide the date the vehicle was towed, and the type of vehicle. The customer should also have a copy of the invoice for the service.

Dear Ms. [redacted]:I am responding to your letter concerning a complaint from the above referenced case #[redacted]. Atthe time of our auction the vehicles are started and all potential buyers are able to look under the hood. They are also allowed to check any malfunction lights on the...

inside of the vehicle. If we are aware of anyproblems with the vehicle the auctioneer discloses this at the time of sale. I am enclosing the bill of salethat Ms. [redacted] signed stating all vehicles are sold "AS-IS WHERE IS". I have also included the auctionterms & conditions that was also signed by Ms. [redacted]. It is unfortunate that Ms. [redacted] had mechanicalissues with this vehicle as she was aware of the rules and regulations upon purchasing it.

I spoke with [redacted] from the company and he stated that the parking lot that the consumer was parked in is privately owned by a restaurant. Their are signs in the lot that state the parking lot enforces towing. The consumer was parked there but was at the bar and not the restaurant. The company took...

pictures of the car before towing it. The car was towed and impounded. The consumer called the police and the police dropped the complaint. The consumer showed up at the towing company at 2am that morning and started insulting the window person. The consumer was then asked to leave. The next day, the consumer came back with her dad requesting the car back. The consumer paid for the car and the car was driven off the lot by the consumer.

and my friends did not leave the parking lot until 4:00am. So I would advise
"Shanks" to properly resolve all issues he is having and stop
confusing myself with another customer, or stop deliberately attempting to make me
sound like a incompetent fabricator. He has already insulted my father and
myself, accused myself of harassing employees, coming to this company
intoxicated early morning/afternoon then leaving because I was unable to drive
due to intoxication, doing “burnouts” in the storage lot and while leaving the lot
coming up the driveway, I have no respect for “Shanks” towing, fortunately I
have respect and dignity for the other victims vehicles that were towed by “Shanks”. In
fact, I was only there one time and I had my car towed from Shanks by [redacted]
towing back to my house so no more damage could be done to my car. I had an officer
at "Shanks" to make a formal police report about the damage done to my car
before my car moved any distance.  The
officer ended up staying and talking with my father and I the whole time we
were there.  I’m not sure if “Shanks” is
aware how the judicial system works, if I had pressed legal charged for
prosecution, I would personally have to ask the Commonwealth to drop the charges since they
would be representing myself.  I did not
press charges I filed a police report to have it on file. Which a report is taken by a representative of a police department
and filed according to said department's procedure. It is also known as an
"incident report." It
is not a legal procedure that can be “dropped”; it will forever stay on file
with the Fredericksburg Police Department. I would advise “Shanks” to reevaluate
his sources before accusing me of acts that were never committed.

Review: The man I spoke with refused to answer ANY questions I had that pertained to his business and their policies, including giving me his name. When I called the day before, to inquire why my car was towed, in which I was very calm when speaking to him, he claimed I was "deflecting" and therefore took it upon himself to react to this. He became very cold and a little too straight forward with me and at that point, I can admit I began to get irate with him. Not only did he laugh in my face, he also was very rude and condescending. The next day I came in to pick up my car and again, asked him for any documentation of their policies. He said they didn't have any information. I let it go. My next question was, what time did they tow from my apartment complex. He said and I quote, "I'm not going to answer that". This went on for about a minute until he finally answered, from 12 midnight to 12 midnight all day, everyday-something he could've answered the second I asked. He then proceeded to ask me how I was paying and I explained to him via card. I then asked him if I could do partial payment and explained my friend that was with me would pay $60 of my fee. He proceeded to take my payment and then stooped to literally say out of his simple mouth, "I can't accept this because it is NOT in the registered owners name". AGAIN, information that should have been disclosed when I STATED AND POINTED to the human being sitting beside me who would be making partial payment. I am literally leaving out details because everything that was exchanged to this man points to lack of respect for people and their circumstances.Desired Settlement: I don't believe they/he has to care for everyone's personal trials but the very least, ACT like you UNDERSTAND. Their site states "Our customers come first". Upon asking exactly who these customers were, he stated, "Not you". My desired resolution is that they make like their name & get shanked a dose of reality because everyone isn't emotionally intelligent to handle businesses-who are EXPECTED to be professional despite the deflection they are receiving-giving them an unnecessary hard time.

Review: On 4/29/16 Shanks Towing towed my car ([redacted] from [redacted] and the tow truck driver damaged the bumper. It appears that he did it as he was backing the car into his lot. I reached out to Shanks Towing on 4 different occasions and was told I would get a call back. I never received a call back and after calling a 5th time in 4 weeks the person in the office finally told me that my damage claim was denied and that their driver did not damage my car. She also stated that I could do whatever I wanted to do whether it was suing them or whatever because they were not going to fix the damage they caused to my car. The damage was not there before they towed the car and it is obvious the car was damaged by a wheel lift tow truck while it was backing in because it is right in the middle of the bumper.Desired Settlement: I want my car fixed at no charge to me, an apology from the company and my towing fee refunded from the treatment I received from the employees.

THUGGISH is the only way I would describe this business.
1-star because [redacted] doesn't allow negative ratings.Shanks towed away my car from the parking garage of my apartment community, [redacted] in downtown [redacted]. (It's quite appalling that I live in a place that has decided to enter into a contract with such a towing company). Neither the towing company nor my apartment community cared to inform me about the fact that my car had been towed from the parking garage that I use (which I pay $125 a month to use btw, and whose garage door hasn't been locked for the past 4 months). The Shanks phone wouldn't work so there was no way for me to reach them. Somehow I found out their local address in [redacted], and took an [redacted] to reach that location. The woman at the desk was extremely rude and dismissive, and behaved like she was doing me some big favor by taking money from me to return my car to me. She showed me some pictures of my car being parked 6 inches over the parking line. First of all, I have no reason to trust them given their reputation. Secondly, even in their pictures, there was enough space for a pickup truck to park next to my car, so it was clear that they towed it to make money off me. Perfect example of the predatory behavior that others have mentioned in their review. Worst experience of my life. The only way to get back at these guys is to stop communities like [redacted] from doing business with them.
