February 26, 2018Complaint ID [redacted] Response to your letter received on Friday, February 23, 2018Customer delivered Factory kit car in March for body work, fitment and custom paintIn the beginning there was no agreement for us to assemble the carThe Factory cobra is a hand made kit car and over the years that we painted them, every one is different with different issues (cracks, fitment of the panels, etc )We informed the customer that we are working on multiple projects at a same time and no deadline was set.On verbal agreement we agreed on $50/hour plus material and that we will base the estimate on the cars we were working on previouslyThis estimate will be for body work and paint onlyWe did not assemble the Factory cobra kit car beforeLater on, based on other customer’s car (same Factory kit car) we estimated the work to be $13,000-$14,for body work and paint onlyThis estimate did not include fitting and assembly. When we put the doors on the main body for fitting we informed the customer that the doors were defective by manufacturer (upper section of the doors was collapsed and the bottom of the doors was already cut too short)He responded that nothing on this car works properly and that he was already frustrated when he was working on it by himselfWe told him that we will fit the doors, hood and the trunk lid as best as we can and he agreed.During the process, the customer often visited the shop to review the progress on the projectWe were billing the customer as the progress went on with the car (labor and materials) and he was inspecting it before he made another paymentDuring this time the customer made numerous changes – change in color (from black with white stripes, to blue with white pearl stripes, to a different shade of blue) and we agreed on additional coats of clear coatLater, he decided that we will assemble the car and towards the end he decided that he will assemble some of the parts by himself (lights, side mirror, etc ).When we finished the fitting and the body work (plus custom installation of the scoop on the hood), we let the customer personally inspect the car before we start painting and he gave us his approvalThe mufflers were installed onto the car before painting (when the body was on the frame) and we did enlarged the openings on the sides for the mufflers. The customer spend several hours at our shop on the day of the pick up, he inspected the car and he told us that he was happy with the final product. The customer received written notes for all of his payments (included receipt for his cash payments in December)We tried to email him the final invoice but it was returnedWe informed the customer about it by text and we let him know that he can pick up the printed invoice at our shop.A week after pick up of the car, the customer was returning our tie downs (which he used for transportation of the car to make it more secure)He said that he was not happy with the job and that he has issues with the door and mufflerWe offered to him that we would take a look and try to fix the problemHe became angry and informed us that many lawsuits would be coming and he left the shop.Regards,Marek H***Shark’s Automotive

This is so entertainingI built the car and delivered it to this damn liar as what is commonly referred to as “ go cart stage “ minus the body being installedThis clown knew from the beginning that the doors , hood , and trunk required proper professional fitting prior to being painted My color change was made prior to any primer or painting so that too is not a valid defense or a item that would increase the final paymentThe exhaust openings were never modified at Sharks Automotive as they were cut by Factory Racing before I pIcked up the car in Shark did not modify the exhaust opening because the right side side exhaust would not physically fitI used the Factory template to confirm the exhaust opening to be exactly the original unmodified sizeI then modified it to install the side exhaustThe fact remains that he is dishonest and deceptiveThe professional, honest and experienced body shops do the complete hood, door, trunk fitting, installation of body mount bolts, bolts under the body, headlights, turn signals, radiator aluminum shroud fitting, mirror installation, tail light installation and wiring, and wheel splash guard installations in the average of to hours installation time including a high quality paint, clear coat and waxMrunprofessional Shark also added his professional touch of thick runs of paint under the rocker panels but apparently he thought I am so stupid that I would never noticeThe Ohio Attorney General will love this clowns accounting system and documentationAs he said many times he is a painter not a body manObviously self accessed overratedCon artist, damn liar

The customer’s responses are false, misleading and full of insultsWe are standing by our original statement (1st response)We can only add a few more details to itThe color change did change the final price, not because of the labor, but because of the cost of the main base color (originally black changed to a blue)The estimated price included material costThe original black base color costed $for 4Qt and the final blue color costed $1,for 4QtThere are three coats of clear coat applied after the base colorsThen we did wet sand the clear coat to make a smooth transition between blue and white stripes and we did apply another three coats of clear coatThe manufacturer of the clear coat recommended that you wait at least one month before applying wax (the solvent needs to evaporate)We did inform the customer about thisWhen the customer came with the problem about his kit car we offered him that we will take a look and see what we can do to resolve the problemHe did not want us to fix it or even see the kit carHe just informed us about the lawsuitsWe did not have much time to respond to it, because he leftThe verbal agreement was $50/h labor spend on his project plus materialWe kept track of labor hours and material for each day we did work on his projectWhich we showed the customer during his visitsIf a different shop promised him a different price for his project it is an agreement between him and the other shopWe did inform him about our price and how we kept records of our labor and material and that we work on more projects at the same timeIf he did not agree with it in the first place, perhaps he could have used the other shop to do the project instead of usRegards, Shark’s Automotive

The fact remains that I paid for hours of labor for a project that should have required by a competent honest paint shop to complete within to hours of laborThe paint and only the paint looks good except for the spot of a pool of paint under the right front rocker area and the dirt in the paint under the left front parking lightThe body was never centered on the chassis and the panels were not fitted on the hinges before paintingThe right side exhaust was not fitted to the body while on the chassisTo properly fit the body and panels the body and panels will require modifications that should have been done before any primer at Sharks AutomotiveThe corrective process will require a complete sanding and repaintingThis should have been a paint shop visit but this is the situation that I have been givenThe doors have a different tint of the paint because they were not painted as a complete painting process with the body. MrMark who brags that he is only of artists in the Columbus area with the talent to do a custom job really should look at his pictures of my car and reassess his talent levelHe would be completely *** if this was his car after months of BS and excusesBut all is well as he has my money for a defective and deceptive action. The end results, pictures, and profession estimates that I have in hand are undeniable documentation. As we all know this will take a bit off time and expense to process in the court system but that is where it is going to be resolved. Thanks in advance,
