Shark's Automotive Reviews (3)

This is so entertaining. I built the car and delivered it to this damn liar as what is commonly referred to as “ go cart stage “ minus the body being installed. This clown knew from the beginning that the doors , hood , and trunk required proper professional fitting prior to being painted . My color change was made prior to any primer or painting so that too is not a valid defense or a item that would increase the final payment. The exhaust openings were never modified at Sharks Automotive as they were cut by Factory 5 Racing before I pIcked up the car in 2015. Shark did not modify the exhaust opening because the right side side exhaust would not physically fit. I used the Factory 5 template to confirm the exhaust opening to be exactly the original unmodified size. I then modified it to install the side exhaust. The fact remains that he is dishonest and deceptive. The professional, honest and experienced body shops do the complete hood, door, trunk fitting, installation of 4 body mount bolts, 6 bolts under the body, headlights, turn signals, radiator aluminum shroud fitting, 3 mirror installation, tail  light installation and wiring, and 4 wheel splash guard installations in the average of 80 to 100 hours installation time including a high quality paint, clear coat and wax. Mr. unprofessional Shark also added his professional touch of thick runs of paint under the rocker panels but apparently he thought I am so stupid that I would never notice. The Ohio Attorney General will love this clowns accounting system and documentation. As he said many times he is a painter not a body man. Obviously self accessed overrated. Con artist, damn liar.

February 26, 2018Complaint ID [redacted]Response to your letter received on Friday, February 23, 2018Customer delivered Factory 5 kit car in March 2017 for body work, fitment and custom paint. In the beginning there was no agreement for us to assemble the car. The Factory 5 cobra is a hand made kit...

car and over the years that we painted them, every one is different with different issues (cracks, fitment of the panels, etc …). We informed the customer that we are working on multiple projects at a same time and no deadline was set.On verbal agreement we agreed on $50/hour plus material and that we will base the estimate on the cars we were working on previously. This estimate will be for body work and paint only. We did not assemble the Factory 5 cobra kit car before. Later on, based on other customer’s car (same Factory 5 kit car) we estimated the work to be $13,000-$14,000 for body work and paint only. This estimate did not include fitting and assembly. When we put the doors on the main body for fitting we informed the customer that the doors were defective by manufacturer (upper section of the doors was collapsed and the bottom of the doors was already cut too short). He responded that nothing on this car works properly and that he was already frustrated when he was working on it by himself. We told him that we will fit the doors, hood and the trunk lid as best as we can and he agreed.During the process, the customer often visited the shop to review the progress on the project. We were billing the customer as the progress went on with the car (labor and materials) and he was inspecting it before he made another payment. During this time the customer made numerous changes – change in color (from black with white stripes, to blue with white pearl stripes, to a different shade of blue) and we agreed on additional coats of clear coat. Later, he decided that we will assemble the car and towards the end he decided that he will assemble some of the parts by himself (lights, side mirror, etc …).When we finished the fitting and the body work (plus custom installation of the scoop on the hood), we let the customer personally inspect the car before we start painting and he gave us his approval. The mufflers were installed onto the car before painting (when the body was on the frame) and we did enlarged the openings on the sides for the mufflers. The customer spend several hours at our shop on the day of the pick up, he inspected the car and he told us that he was happy with the final product. The customer received written notes for all of his payments (included receipt for his cash payments in December). We tried to email him the final invoice but it was returned. We informed the customer about it by text and we let him know that he can pick up the printed invoice at our shop.A week after pick up of the car, the customer was returning our tie downs (which he used for transportation of the car to make it more secure). He said that he was not happy with the job and that he has issues with the door and muffler. We offered to him that we would take a look and try to fix the problem. He became angry and informed us that many lawsuits would be coming and he left the shop.Regards,Marek H[redacted]Shark’s Automotive

The fact remains that I paid for 289 hours of labor for a project that should have required by a competent honest paint shop to complete within 80 to 100 hours of labor. The paint and only the paint looks good except for the 1 spot of a pool of paint under the right front rocker area and the dirt in the paint under the left front parking light. The body was never centered on the chassis and the panels were not fitted on the hinges before painting. The right side exhaust was not fitted to the body while on the chassis. To properly fit the body and panels the body and panels will require modifications that should have been done before any primer at Sharks Automotive. The corrective process will require a complete sanding and repainting. This should have been a 1 paint shop visit but this is the situation that I have been given. The doors have a different tint of the paint because they were not painted as a complete painting process with the body. Mr. Mark who brags that he is only 1 of 3 artists in the Columbus area with the talent to do a custom job really should look at his pictures of my car and reassess  his talent level. He would be completely [redacted] if this was his car after 11 months of BS and excuses. But all is well as he has my money for a defective and deceptive action. The end results, pictures, and profession estimates that I have in hand are undeniable documentation. As we all know this will take a bit off time and expense to process in the court system but that is where it is going to be resolved. Thanks in advance,
