The customer brought his Honda civic in to my shop.He stated that he wanted the fuel pump replaced and that he had is own parts.I explained to him that there is no warranty from my shop on customer purchased parts.I also told him that I had
no problem installing his parts that he purchased.After bringing the vehicle into my shop I ran a diagnostic test on the vehicle with my snap on solus edge scan tool.The diagnosis was random cylinder misfire code.I then proceeded to verify information on the code with the sure track feature on my scan tool which shows top confirmed fixes.I found information stating that low fuel pressure can cause random cylinder miss fire conditions.I then proceeded to check the spark plugs first before installing the fuel pump like the customer had originally requested because they also can cause random cylinder miss fire conditions.I found no visible defects.I then proceeded with the installation of the fuel pump like the customer originally requested.after installation of the fuel pump there was still a random cylinder miss fire issue.I then contacted the customer again.I asked him if he wanted me to continue with diagnosing the vehicle since I completed the fuel pump installation that he originally requested and there was still an apparent problem with the vehicle.he declined any further repairs or diagnosis.Bottom line here is there was never any lack of communication on my part what so everthe repairs that the customer requested were completed I would have had no problem continuing diagnosing the random miss fire issue with the vehicle.further more if he had a problem with anything why wouldn't he have contacted me by phone or in person? I would have been more than happy to resolve any issues that he may be having.I think that there was a major miss communication on his part and that he handled this situation very poorly

The fuel pump should have not been replacedAnother mechanic ran a diagnostic test after and it showed a oxygen sensor issue along with a coil bank issueWe have ordered new parts to fix the real issues that should have been diagnosed by Shawns repairI will not accept this offer but it sounds like I don't have a choice

Bottom line here is you brought in a fuel pump that you purchased yourself and requested that I install it in your vehicle.The repair that you requested was completed .I was more than willing to continue diagnosing your vehicle and you declined.If you had an issue with anything there was no reason that you couldn't have contacted me or came in and talked to me in person.This could have been handled in a way different manner.But due to your lack of communication that was not possible
