Shawna Leigh Designs Reviews (37)

Hello [redacted] I sent you an email with my personal address. If you can please read and respond to this, I am more than happy to work with you on this. Thank you, Shawna

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. Why did you lie about the name.com account? Why did you lie to the Revdex.com?
Regards,
[redacted]

I agree that client and I had some miscommunication through email, in which I believe she wasn't receiving on her end as I have responded and made changes that she requested throughout our time working together. I have had a period where I was having troubles with email (she is not the only one that has had this issue so yes this is on my end) so to resolve this issue short term, I emailed her through my personal address (only after I received an email from the Revdex.com did I realize my emails must not have been sending) in order to move forward without any communication errors.I understand and agree that I have received calls from client but it is very hard for me to return most calls that I receive throughout the day, which is why I prefer email communication as I can respond more quickly in most cases. As as single person business, I have been and am working on this issue to avoid this problem in the future.I have offered my client to continue to work with her as she is not eligible for a refund at this point. I completely understand if she wants to move forward with another designer and have offered to send what I have to far and to also give her a full website credit in case she ever wanted to continue business in the future. I am more than happy to work out a solution with client but can only offer so much with what has already been done and what she is eligible for.

I was first contacted by client on March 12th about website services. After a few emails, we decided to move forward and received her order for a website, hosting, and a domain on March 14th. On March 15th, I emailed her to let her know I received her order and that it would take a week in order for...

the first draft to be completed once I received some details. Between March 15th and March 20st, she sent me details to work on the site and followed up on Marched 21st to make sure everything was okay. That same day I replied letting her know that I was sorry for any delay as I was on my way to Florida from Pennsylvania and did not have much internet to continue work on the road but wanted to respond to let her know that I arrived and would have an update shortly for her. That same day, she said that was fine as she didn't need it immediately and was going to focus on her business and domain name. On the 24th I was able to provide her first website draft and got a response on the 25th that she was unable to continue with the site for reasons I don't need to bring up but wanted to request a refund since she no longer needed the site. I told her I don't offer refunds on websites but could give her credit for the site and refund her in full with the website hosting she purchased from me since it was not used. After a few emails back and forth on March 25th explaining the refund situation and , I was emailed on April 4th with my client saying she will find another website for me to build and to not refund the hosting and domain as she will still be needing it. She said she would email me within a week or two once she figured it out. I responded on April 5th saying that I could move forward at anytime.Going through, I do have missing email correspondence from April 5th to April 26th, but seeing where the emails left off, it sounded like she already sent me information in regards to the new website as I responded with an update along with other comments about the site. I also wrote about trying out a new email system that I was working on at that time so everything should be moving forward quicker and without much more delay. From April 26th until July 1st, there are more emails missing from my inbox but I do believe during this time, we were going back and forth with communication on the site and came to a disagreeance that ended up with client requesting a refund for a second time - which I do remember explaining to her that she was not eligible but could refund her again for the hosting as it was not used during our time.I remember a few days after this, she contacted me in regards to her domain and I said if she didn't want it registered under me, we would have to go through a transfer process in which she initiated. A few days passed and she followed up requesting that I release it but I never received any emails in regards to transferring the domain. In response, she had the email sent again which I did receive and followed the instructions. Almost a month later, she emailed me requesting to approve the transfer and I told her I didn't receive anything on my end since I last forwarded the email that she had to follow. Her response was simply about contacting the Revdex.com, requesting her refund that she's not eligible for, and immediately approving the domain transfer. I responded to let her know that I did everything on my end to move the domain transfer forward but in order for us to move forward, she would have to initiate it again as the deadline was past for the instructions to be followed on the email. In short, I have been trying to move the transfer process along so that she would have possession of her domain but due to emails not being received by both parties, it has been delayed longer than it should which is out of my control.

I have never refused to transfer the domain over to my client. She asked if she could have access and I explained that the domain was on my personal account so I could update any settings that she would need. I also said that if she would like to have control over the domain, all we would need to do is a domain transfer which she initiated. Once it was initiated, I followed the steps that were needed in order to complete the transfer. The last step that I received instructed me to forward the email to my client so that she could approve and finalize the transfer. I forwarded the email and did not receive any other emails, instructions, notifications, etc...that indicated the domain transfer was completed. When I was confronted through the Revdex.com, I explained this in an email and said that she would have to re-initiate the transfer as the email that I forwarded said the steps would have to be completed within so many days. After I requested she re-initiate the second attempt to transfer, I never heard anything back other than the messages directly through here.In short, I have never and still am not refusing transferring the domain over to her possession. There are steps/protocols that have to be followed that are out of my control and am trying to resolve this as quickly as we can. If she does not initiate another transfer, then there is nothing I can do about the domain other than let it sit in my account. With missing emails, yes she can have records of emails that may have been unanswered or sent but it does not mean that I received them on my end. If and when there was a long period of time of something unanswered. I responded truthfully.I am trying to resolve this the best I can but can only do so much on my end. I will continue to respond as needed and will try to email my client directly to do what is necessary to resolve this matter.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
She says that she does not believe her statements are incorrect. This is why I am providing objective evidence of how her statements are incorrect. When she says, "Whether or not you want to
believe I have missing emails is entirely your right - but I would never lie or make up false statements. " I have so many e-mails where I am e-mailing her and
repeatedly asking why she wasn't responding to me so she cannot say that "I am claiming" that the extended e-mail gaps are when she wasn't e-mailing me - because I
have proof of it!
She never e-mailed me about "what needs to be done." I was e-mailing HER since the beginning of July asking her to transfer this domain and she refused to do it. This is
why I can't have her complete my website - because she "says" she is willing to do it - BUT SHE DOESN'T DO IT!

She owes me a full refund and she needs to transfer my domain immediately.

DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH SHAWNA LEIGH. SHE TOOK $475 FOR A WEBSITE THAT SHE WAS SUPPOSED TO DESIGN AND FAILED TO COMPLETE IT IN A TIMELY FASHION. I TRIED TO CONTACT HER THROUGH EMAIL AND SEVERAL VOICE MESSAGES. NO CALL BACK AND NO EMAILS UNTIL TODAY WHEN I AGAIN SENT HER A MESSAGE AND STATED I WAS GOING TO REPORT HER. THEN ALL OF THE SUDDEN SHE COMES FROM THE HIDING SPOT AND DECIDES TO EMAIL ME BACK. SINCE THEN I TRIED DISPUTING IT THROUGH THE BANK AND FOUND OUT I HAD TO DISPUTE IT THROUGH PAYPAL FIRST BEFORE CONTACTING THE BANK. THE BANK STATED THAT SHE TRIED TO CONTACT ME AND I DON'T ANSWER. THOSE ARE BOLD FACE LIES FROM SHAWNA. SHE DISAPPEARED AND I TRIED CONTACTING HER! I REALLY WISH I WOULD HAVE READ THESE REVIEWS FIRST BEFORE I ENCOUNTERED MY VERY FIRST BAD BUSINESS! A BUSINESS WITH THIS TYPE OF RETURN POLICY IS "FISHY". AND SHAWNA IS A LIAR! WHY DID SHE LIE TO THE BANK AND WHY AFTER SEVERAL MONTHS SHE REACHES ME TODAY? BECAUSE I TOLD HER I WAS GOING TO REPORT HER. AND I WILL BE TAKING THIS TO THE DEPARTMENT OF FINANCIAL SERVICES FROM PENN. SHE STATED SHE HAS 50 POSITIVE REVIEWS, WHERE? SHE IS NOT GOOD BUSINESS, LESSON LEARNED! CHECK OUT HER RETURN POLICY, I WOULD NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH A PERSON WITH THIS RETURN POLICY BECAUSE OBVIOUSLY THEY HAVE SOMETHING TO HIDE. THANKS FOR NOTHING AND ENJOY YOUR $475. ITS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME UNTIL YOU GET CAUGHT!

5 COMPLAINTS WITH MY SAME EXPERIENCE. I SEE A TREND AND SHE IS GETTING AWAY WITH IT. SHE ALSO STATED SHE HAS 50 POSITIVE REVIEWS. WHERE? I DON'T SEE ANYWHERE ON ANY SEARCH ENGINE HER 50 POSITIVE REVIEWS ESPECIALLY WHEN THERE IS A TREND OF PEOPLE ENCOUNTERING THE SAME ISSUE. DO NOT GIVE HER BUSINESS. I RESERVE THE RIGHTS TO FREEDOM OF SPEECH AND SPEAK NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH! FURTHERMORE, SHE EMAILS ME TODAY OUT OF HOW MANY MONTHS? YES. TODAY! SHE OFFERS A SOLUTION TO GIVE ME $475 WORTH OF SERVICES OR I CAN REFER A FRIEND AND THEY CAN USE THAT VALUE BUT I AM NOT ENTITLED TO A REFUND. I AM HOPING TO STOP THIS CONSUMER FROM DOING THIS TO MORE PEOPLE. OBVIOUSLY THIS IS HER TREND AND SHE IS CURRENTLY GETTING AWAY WITH IT! FILE A REPORT WITH PAYPAL IF YOU HAVE BEEN A VICTIM OF HER TRICKERY!

Warning ⚠ she is NOT licensed

I purchased a $550.00 website package on October 3, 2017. I am still waiting for it to be finished and have emailed multiple times about changes that I want. My credit card company has given me until Friday of this week to file a dispute which it looks like I will do.

I don't know about the reviews on Yelp, but my experience was not positive and I need to post one on Yelp to avoid anyone else having this problem.

scaccidentattorney.com is the site.

She is NOT licensed

She did the same to me

Review: Using a google search - I found Shawna Leigh's business and asked about her website design services and we communicated via e-mail. When I asked her how long it would take to build the website she e-mailed me and said, "The average build time for a website is 1-3 weeks but can vary drastically on a numerous amount of factors. If you have a deadline to reach, let me know and I can try to accommodate it. I normally have the first website draft to view within the first few days to a week." As soon as I paid her for the website I didn't hear from her for a long time. When she responded to me again - she said that she was sorry she didn't respond because she was busy traveling in Florida. Then the same thing happened again - she would not respond to me for a long time. When she then did respond to me again on April 26th - she said that she was just trying a new e-mail system out and said in an e-mail that I should always hear from her within 24 hours. Then the same thing happened again - where I didn't hear from her in a long time and when she responded she said that she never received the e-mail that I sent to her. I told her that after three times of this - it was enough. It had been about two months and she told me that I would have a website in 1-3 weeks. I asked her for a refund but she refused. I paid her a total of $555.00, but she only refunded $180.00. She continues to owe me a refund of $375.00 that she refuses to pay me.

Since she did not give me the website - then I had to find a different web designer which I hired in mid-June. They cannot create my website because Shawna has control of the domain name and she will not release it. I first asked her to release the domain on July 1st - and she has repeatedly told me that she will, but she has not released it and it has been almost two full months.Desired Settlement: I want a full refund of the $375 that she owes me and I want her to release my domain name so that my new web designer can create my website.

Review: I hired Shawna Leigh for website design in November 2015, but did not start work with her until April 2015. Until that point, she had been prompt with responses; however, as soon I started to send e-mail messages to commence work with her, she did not respond. I called her and then contacted her through her website. She provided a very basic mockup, but has continued to be unresponsive to my requests.

Most recently, I requested a full refund on 5/15/2016. She has not responded.Desired Settlement: I would like a full refund of $450 for services not rendered in a timely fashion, and for unresponsiveness to repeated attempts to contact her.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Ms.L[redacted] wrote me an e-mail message from her personal e-mail address today (5/19/2016) claiming that she did respond to my e-mails, but that I did not receive them. Although she claims that she responded, I do not believe this. I called the number provided on her website, left voice messages, and never received any answer either by phone or by e-mail. I contacted her through her website multiple times, and did not receive a response. Prior to beginning work on this project, we never had any difficulty with e-mail correspondence; however, when I contacted her to commence work on 4/13/2016, she did not respond until I contacted her through her website at the beginning of May. I had e-mailed her on 4/26/2016 and 4/28/2016. After the initial very simple mockup she provided on 5/3/2016, I responded with questions on that same day. She did not respond until today (5/19/2016) after receiving the notification from the Revdex.com. I find this working relationship unacceptable.

Shawna Leigh Designs, did a wonderful page for my business, totally revamped what I had. She is great at communication and emailing me back and assisting my needs. She let me view what work she has done and made any corrections so I can see them online. I sent the last revision to her and everything should be ready to post online within the next few days! Thank you Shawna!

Review: This unprofessional individual offers cheap web design. I clicked to order and then decided I didn't want to work with her because after several email attempts to reach her, no response. I finally contacted her through her "contact form" and then she responded. I told her I needed her to respond more promptly at least to acknowledge that she received payment. and she had some snotty response and I just didn't get a good feel about her professionalism and she is just too "busy" to help with my needs. I demand a full refund but she says there are no refunds. What very unprofessional way to run a business!!!!!Desired Settlement: I want my $450 refunded immediately. She is very unprofessional and she needs to cut her ties when she knows it could hurt her business with this kind of publicity. It's not a way to run a GOOD business!

She has only a website and I've searched for her mailing address and it's now where to be found. She clearly doesn't want to be found. I don't know what to do, she is winning if we cannot file this complaint.

What very unprofessional way to run a business! !!!!Response:Shawna Leigh Designs makes it a priority to respond to all client emails within 24-48 hours which is outlined in our terms of service that you agreed to upon ordering the service. I am sorry you feel that I did not give your project the attention that it deserves, however, I did respond to you within 24 hours as soon as I was able to. Due to the digital nature of the services offered by Shawna Leigh Designs, I normally do not offer refunds. This is also noted in our terms of service that you agreed to upon ordering the service. However, since the project was not started, I made a one-time exception to this rule and offered you a full refund as soon as it was processed through the bank. You paid $450.00 on August 26th 2015 and you were then refunded in full on August 31st 2015 through PayPal with the transaction ID as: [redacted] which was immediately after your funds become available again through the banking system.I understand the sense of urgency when you pay someone a lot of money and expect an end result, however, your demands for immediate communication and an immediate refund were simply not possible. I am sorry that I was unable to meet your expectations and I will make it a priority to improve as I move forward.Wishing you the best,Shawna

I engaged the services of Shawna Leigh Designs for the initial building and design of a website in January of 2016. I had looked at several similar companies prior to taking her up, and felt her site most suggestive of talented, professional, affordable services.
From the beginning Shawna was attentive to my needs, interested in my ideas, and passionate about helping make them a reality. She communicated well and put me at ease throughout the process. With it being my first time utilizing web design services it could have been nerve-wracking, but instead it was fun, relaxed, and exciting creating the site.
Having used dozens of vendors for business related services I have seen good ones, bad ones, and everything in between. I would rank Shawna near the top, and was very pleased with her services.

Review: Shawnaleighdesigns failed to complete my website design within the stated timeframe (they said it would take 2-3 weeks; the site is still incomplete after nearly 2.5 months). What effort they did put into the site fell far short of what they agreed to do for the price paid. Numerous follow-up e-mails to the individuals I believe work there (Shawna L[redacted] and Peter L[redacted]) have gone unanswered.Desired Settlement: Unfortunately, I no longer have the faith/confidence that shawnaleighdesigns will be able to complete my site to my satisfaction in a timely manner. As such, I am requesting a full refund in order to hire a designer who will be able to do so.
