Shawn's Auto & 24 Hour Towing

Review: I purchased a 1965 Mustang from [redacted] from Shawn's Auto & 24 hour towing. He advertised it as no holes or rust on the frame, that it would pass a vehicle inspection. That it runs and drives great. New tires in great condition. That was in good enough condition that we could drive it home from his place of business. We purchased the car without inspection but did ask questions. After he got my money he advised us we would need to haul it to our location to check it out on our own before we should drive it. My husband is active duty military and we live approx 277 miles from Shawns Auto. Friends of ours went to pick up the car. The car had no brakes at all causing an incident loading the vehicle on the trailer. Upon inspection of the car when it arrived we realized that it would take thousands of dollars for this car to be put into the condition he stated it was on his auction listing. I contacted him and requested a refund and he is blaming all the issues with the car on the incident loading it on the trailer. The master cylinder was rusted shut, bone dry of fluid and the brakes are seized by rust. The incident on the trailer was caused because he misrepresented the condition of the car. This car has dry rotted tires that wont hold air, the brakes are seized by rust, the underside of the car is full of rust, the engine is missing parts and has parts not connected, the exhaust isn't complete with missing parts and not secure to the vehicle, the brake lights and head lights don't work, the horn doesn't work. I am afraid of what will be found when its put on a rack. I contacted the seller and he stated "as is where is" do not contact him again.Desired Settlement: I would like a full refund of $5200.00. in the alternative we can take it to a independent licensed and bonded mechanic and you can pay what it will cost to put the car into the condition you stated it was in the auction listing.
