Shawn's Chimney Sweep

Review: Paid in Full for materials and labor, total: ($1,800.00) for work that was never done.

I Originally paid approx 1/2 down to start work, $950.00, on January 14th, 2015, then was to pay the balance due, $850.00 when completed. When Shawn arrived at job, he said he was there ready to do the job, but needed to be paid the balance that day. January 21st, 2015, I quickly made the deposit of the balance, $850.00 into the account for him. The total now paid is $1,800.00 Later that day he called and informed me that he purchased the wrong part to be able to do the job, and that he would have to order the right part and do the install once it arrives. He told me the part arrived (Feb. 2015), but since that time, with numerous calls, texts, excuses, no shows, and now being totally ignored regarding the job, it still has yet to be completed. August 19th, 2015.Desired Settlement: Total refund of job, $1,800.00. which I asked Shawn for and he said he couldn't do that, that he would have to do the job, because he had already spent a day trying to do the install with a part that didn't fit, and the 2nd part he ordered was special order, so there's no returning that part. So I said, "do the job." For the next 3 months after that, I still have no completed job, with ignored calls and texts.

Review: We purchased a home in [redacted] on June 20th at the address filed. As a part of the inspection prior to the purchase of the home we had requested a chimney cap to be put in the home. The sellers of this home paid $200 dollars to Shawn's Chimney Sweep to install the cap. We closed on the home in agreement that Shawn's Chimney Sweep would come in to install the chimney cap after June 20th. As a part of the closing we have paid the sellers the 200 dollars with an understanding that Shawn's Chimney's Sweep would do the needful.After June 20th I have called Shawn's office many times and requested for either a refund of $200 or an installation of the cap as agreed. Initially Shawn has mentioned that he would come every next week. However he has not showed up till date. Over the last one month he has not been responding to calls and neither has the courtesy to return calls.We have contacted the prior sellers who have been extremely cooperative and have tried to call Shawn and also tried to visit his office. However Shawn has not kept his commitment. He still owes us 200 dollars and refuses to acknowledge our calls and the fact he has our money.My experience in dealing with this company has been very stressful as the company has been unresponsive with poor customer service besides owing us 200 dollars
