I have always enjoyed doing business with Shaw's, whether it be purchasing new HVAC systems or having equipment serviced. Recently one of my HVAC systems developed a difficult-to-diagnose problem, but Shaw's devoted a great deal of time and effort to resolving the problem. In particular my thanks go to Joe M. for his diligent efforts and friendly manner.

I called Shaw to repair an Air Conditioner (heat pump, not window unit) which serviced one room, which failed on Sunday of the Memorial Day Weekend. Their technician told me that the system was completely empty of refrigerant, and would require 8 to 10 pounds, at a cost of $100 per pound. If I did not want to go with this $1165 option ($165 for the service call and $1000 for refrigerant), my other options were a pressure to test which he could not do that day at the cost of $4000-$5000 (if coil issue), or to replace the one room unit at a cost of $11,000. We suffered the heat through the weekend. We had a different company company come out after the weekend, and he got the system running after 3 pounds of refrigerant at $49 pound.
