Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
As someone that has worked with computers prior and have built a few I take the businesses response as insultingIn no way did I mentioned the specific type of screws were in the laptopI am very well aware of my limitationsI have sent an email to the representative handling my case that included the pictures of the extent of damage which if needed can be forwarded to the business, which in fact would cost half the worth of the laptop with no gurantee that it can be fixedIn response to his mention of the reviews, this was the reason for taking my laptop to them to begin with, however does not give the business a wall to hide behindAs stated, I did not have issues with the laptop until recent since battery replacementWhen stated that I was attempting to fix on my own, I was only able to access the hdd/gpu port as all other screws were strippedAs this business was the last persons to have access to the inside of my laptop, this in fact means that the damage was cause by themThe offer of 50% off next repair does not satisfy compensation as I would not be going back to this business for any reasonPlease see attached photos as representation of what was foundAdditional photos available upon requestThank you. Regards,
*** See

This letter is in response to a complaint submitted on or around march 1, 2018 by Mr. [redacted] see of Sheboygan. Thank you for taking the time to contact Sheboygan PC Repair. Customer satisfaction is my top priority and feedback (be it positive or negative) is how I can grow as a business. Sheboygan pc...

repair is a one man operating that has been in business for 11 years. A quick google search will reveal customer feedback reflecting the fact that I am always willing to do whatever it takes to make sure the repair is done properly. This can be seen in Mr. See’s original complaint as well – the fact that I replaced the battery at no charge three times (with a genuine battery not the cheaper aftermarket battery). Until this letter I was unaware of any issues this customer had (or I would have taken care of it) – the last interaction with this customer was when the laptop left fully functional more than a year ago and the customer was happy. The work was done on 9-8-2016, yet this complaint is being filed 1.5 years after the service was complete. I make sure to fully explain to all customers (and include a printout) that a battery is a “wear item” and it will lose capacity over time. In addition, all batteries sold by Sheboygan PC Repair come with a 12-month warranty. The original complaint mentioned that when the customer thought the battery was failing he decided to “fix it on his own this time” and that he was unable to remove some of the screws. Asus along with many other brands of electronics do not use standard Philips head screws. They generally use fastener with a proprotor head designs that require special tools to properly remove them. To the untrained eye it looks like it should accept a torques bit, but these special screws have 5 or 7 points not 6 like a torques bit. This is done by the manufacturer to prevent the end user from attempting to disassemble the machine. When the improper tool is used it will cause the screw to strip. It sounds like this is what may have happened in this case. As a computer repair business, I own a large collection of specialty tools for repairs just like this and if I were to strip a screw – it would be replaced with the proper (matching) screw. At this point the customer choose to take his repair to another shop (Best Buy) who stated they were unable to deal with a stripped screw and that the computer is not worth fixing and needs to be replaced (typical of Best Buy as per my experience and the vast number complaints on file with the Revdex.com). I am very sorry to hear about that diagnosis from best buy. I have learned from this experience and I will be adjusting the way I conduct business from now on. I will no longer offer a lower cost aftermarket equivalent part for any repairs – I will only use brand new, sealed, genuine OEM parts for the machine being serviced. I feel this will improve the service experience for my customer and ensure that the replacement part will not fail prematurely.  Again, I do apologize deeply for your situation with your laptop and your negative experience with Sheboygan PC Repair. If you decide to use my services again I will offer you a 50% discount on labor on any one service. I hope to do business with you again.
