We charged *** *** the correct fees for the services rendered. All insurance companies send us an
“Explanation of Benefits” with their payments to us. Sometimes we have to write off a portion
of
our fees because of a contact with the insurance company, and sometimes we do
not have to do this. Every individual
insurance plan is different. The
Explanation of Benefits (EOB) we received from *** insurance company was confusing, and our new
employee misunderstood it. She
mistakenly did not think we needed to write off any amount. We called the insurance company to understand
the EOB further. Because of our conversation with the insurance
company, we realized we were in error, we apologized to ***, and told her we
would refund her the amount owed to her ($48.80). This was all done before *** filed the
complaint with her insurance company.
When *** called in April, she was told we do patient refunds on the
first of the month. *** was issued a
check through our bank on 5/1/with an estimated arrival date to *** of
5/8/14. We communicated this to
***. She filed a complaint with the
Revdex.com on 5/6/14. The
check was cashed on 5/14/

I did not appreciate this as I am business owner and frequently purchase lunch/dinner here for my employees. I need a receipt for tax purposes. Although a strange process, I understand if that is how they run their business but I do not appreciate the shadiness. When a transaction occurs, I expect an invoice. They did not provide and stated they would later send me one. I don't know why I was not provided one in the first place. Unethical.

The dentist did not credit my account until March 2014. I have statements that show the date in which the account was credited. I also have  documentation from my insurance carrier  showing the issue was not resolved prior to  March of 2014.   Quite simply, if the dentist had resolved the issue before I filed the complaint with my insurance carrier on January 6; my account would have been credited prior to March , and the insurance carrier would have closed the grievance  prior to March. Neither of these happened.
Charging customers more than the contracted rate is  overcharging your customers. The fact that the dentist was unaware of the  contracted rate and did not take a write off  simply does not excuse this. These charges were billed directly to me, and multiple  phone conversations with this provider resulted in their refusal to correct the issue. I understand that errors are made, but their unwillingness to address the overcharge resulted in a grievance with my insurance carrier and a call to the Revdex.com to get the issue resolved. I finally received a check on 5/11/2014.  In all, it took 6 full months, a grievance with my insurance carrier, and a call to the Revdex.com  to resolve the issue. I think other consumers are entitled to this information when making a choice about this provider.
