 Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:  The statement that Mr. D[redacted] gave is false.  Per my insurance policy it states "The treatment is provided pursuant to a treatment plan that requires the services of a licensed and skilled therapist specializing in the are of services provided".   Yes, Mr. D[redacted] is a licensed therapist who specializes in orthopedic however as my plan states services need to be provided by a licensed and skilled therapist.  Mr. D[redacted] states several times in his response that in fact I was treated by a student.  The other issue that I have is as I stated before, Mr. D[redacted] personally only touched my foot/leg on 2 different occasions the other 5 times, it was done by the student massaging etc.  I was not the only patient in the office being treated.  The student would do a treatment and then Mr. D[redacted] would ask her "what do you think should be done next?  For Mr. D[redacted] to say that he treated me ALL 7 times, he is completely lying. My first doctors order stated 12 sessions 3 x a week for 4 weeks.  I did inform my doctor at the time(I'm no longer with her)  that I was not happy with the service that I was receiving and she indicated that I could stop going there and she informed me that she would make the phone call.  Mr. D[redacted] states he was "professional".  Is professional when you talk about another patient when the leave like you did on a few occasions while I was there.  Is professional stating "I have never received a doctors order like this before".  Is professional when you lie and state "I interacted professionally with the patient and student during each treatment session"?  You may have interacted with her during my treatment however again, ALL the services I received were not by you and you yourself state that in you comment.  On my initial visit I was asked if the student could sit in.  I had no problem with that as my daughter is a student herself and they have to learn somehow.  My problem is and I will continue to say it... I WAS NOT TREATED BY A LICENSED AND SKILLED THERAPIST.  One could only assume if I was maybe I would have not need 2 additional surgeries. When I started going to therapy again at another facility, I was informed of my policy.  Not sure why your office could not figure this out like they did but since you are the only therapist at this location, and my insurance was not aware that I was not be treated by you, that is why the bills were paid.  They were not aware that a student was the one who was actually preforming the services.
