Good afternoon Mr***, The manager has reviewed the phontos of your recliner and is offering the following: For $we weill pick up the recliner and repair it at our facilities in PA Our restoration shop will refinish the arms and apply a catalyzed varnish to protect them Our upholstery shop will order a hide of leather to reupholster the upper bustle of the chair The repairs will take several weeks and I will need payment in full at the time of pick up is scheduled Neither of these issues are warrantied but a reaction to body and hair oils I recommend that some type of towel be placed between the leather and the head of the person sitting in the recliner, to prevent this from happening again, after the repair has been made Please let me know if you'd like to proceed so I can get a sales order to you for your signature.Thank you, Suzanne C [redacted] Sheffield Furniture Customer Service [redacted] Rockville, MD ###-###-####

I am rejecting this response because:In my earlier discussions regarding my recliner, I was told the leather had been discontinued. This meant the full recliner had to be reupholstered. They have offered to redo only the head rest where the damage is. I have asked them how they can reassure me that the new leather will match, especially since their earlier reply implied they could not make that assurance. I received the email communication from Sheffield on April 10 and responded the same day.  I am waiting for their response.

Review: Summary: Sofa purchased and delivered (February 2013) gave off noxious fumes that made me ill. March 2013 called Sheffield about the issue and they picked up sofa on March 27, 2013. I have made numerous attempts to contact them and seek a refund. They are not responding. Total amount paid and for which I am seeking a refund is: $4364.31.

Details: In November 2012 I purchased a [redacted] sofa from Sheffield [redacted], Maryland store to be delivered at a later date. In February 2013 I received a wood and leather sofa from Sheffield Furniture. The smell and fumes coming from the sofa were so bad that we could not live on the same floor with the sofa. The fumes were making me ill (including headaches, stinging eyes, lightheaded/spacey, and more). We lived with the first floor windows and patio door opened to try and mitigate the problem but it did not help. The fumes/smell did not diminish. On March 13, 2013 I called Sheffield Furniture to tell them what was happening with the sofa and that it had to go. Over several phone calls, Susan C[redacted] in customer service arranged to have the sofa picked up. The sofa was picked up on March 27, 2013 at 4:30 pm.

From October 2013 to August 2014 I have made calls to Sheffield to inquire about the sofa refund. I have left messages for Susan/Suzanne C[redacted], Diane A[redacted], and Debbie H[redacted].

August 15, 2014 Susan C[redacted] left a voice mail saying the sofa was in the warehouse, it was not well-marked so the Warehouse Manager did not know who it belonged to, and she suggested a delivery date. (I have a copy of this voice mail).

August 20, 2014 I spoke to Ms. C[redacted] and reiterated that the sofa was a detriment to my health and could not come back into my home, and again requested a refund. Ms. C[redacted] said she would talk to her manager. I have not heard from her or anyone at Sheffield and thus, in September 2014, I enlisted the assistance of my credit card company. Sheffield has not responded to them either.

Once the sofa was completely out of our home, it took about a week for the odor to be completely gone.Desired Settlement: Refund of money paid for sofa $4364.31
