Sheldon Grove Family Dental

Review: Sheldon Grove Dental performed dental work for my wife. They recommended certain procedures were to be performed, but during the 'pre-authorization', the Insurance company informed Sheldon Grove that they deemed these procedures unnecessary and would not authorize. We were not notified of this decision, or we would not have proceeded with the work. They performed the work anyway, fully aware it was not authorized, and then attempted to bill us directly. As this was an unnecessary an unauthorized procedure, Sheldon Grove did this at their own risk and we are not liable for this cost.

This situation was discussed at length with Sheldon Grove and the Insurance provider, and the Insurance provider sent a letter confirming they were NOT allowed to bill the patient for this service per their "preferred provider agreement". They continued to use bullying tactics and send numerous handwritten notes on bills, which we have steadfastly refused to pay as it is not billable.

Now they have filed a negative report to the credit agencies, and it is negatively affecting our credit, directly costing us money and damaging our ability to obtain and maintain good credit with an otherwise excellent credit record.

This is an absolutely unacceptable and shameful business practice by Sheldon Grove, and this needs to be corrected immediately.Desired Settlement: 1. IMMEDIATELY file a correction with the credit agencies to remove this negative comment on our credit.

2. Send a letter of confirmation to us that this billing issue has been closed, the credit correction has been made, and that we will no longer receive harassing correspondence seeking payment.
