Shell Shockers Home Improvements

Review: Shell Shockers Home Improvement had done some work for us installing ceiling fans. The job was done to our satisfaction so we proceeded to get a bid for a fence for our backyard. We agreed to a price of $2,795. We paid $1,500 up front for purchase of materials with remaining payment to be remitted after completion of fence. The check was cashed on 10/8/2014 by Mr. C[redacted]. On 10/22/2014, we were notified that our fencing materials had arrived, but he did not have enough manpower to install it. On 10/27/14, we were told it would be started on 10/28/14. Then it was pushed to 10/29/14. On 10/29/14, we had holes put in our backyard by one of his workers. Then it was again pushed back to 10/30/14, then 10/31/14. Unfortunately, it was excuse after excuse as to why there was a delay. Then on 11/5/14, I texted Mr. C[redacted] just to make sure we were on the same page and to let him know we were getting a bit anxious. He then texts me back to say the holes were not drilled correctly and had be redone. On top of that, he told me he ordered the wrong size fence and had to send it back and order the correct size. Things started to smell fishy to me at this point. Mr. C[redacted] did come by on 11/7/14 and fixed the holes. Our last contact with Mr. C[redacted] was 11/11/14 via text message stating the fence had been ordered and the fence order had been received and processed. We have sent text messages and emails to Mr. C[redacted] in hopes of coming up with a solution. We did not get any response and tried his cell phone. It has been disconnected/shut down and all of his company information has been removed from the internet. We have left messages on his home phone that he has listed, but we don't even know if that number is legitimate. As of today, we have holes in our backyard, no fence, and we no longer have reliable contact information.Desired Settlement: We want our $1,500 refunded.
