The Shell Gas Station corner of Rivers Rd. and Hwy. 92

So I stopped there to purchase a couple of drinks and snacks. I put my debit card in the machine and the cashier said it was declined. So he asked if I wanted to pay in cash. I said yes, and paid in cash. When I got in my car I pulled up my bank account worried that someone had hacked my account. My account was fine and I saw the the Shell station amount was deducted from my account after I had paid cash. I went back into the store and told the cashier that my card did go through and I just paid $16 dollar for a transaction that should have cost $8. He said that I would have to take that up with my bank that on his end it didn't go through. So I thought well maybe it will be reversed in the next couple of days. Not the situation. Of course I did not have a receipt for my cash transaction so trying to get back money wasn't going to be easy, so I just thought that I wouldn't go back there and move on. Not worth the trouble. This was back in Nov. 2019. Now a few weeks ago taking my son to school we stopped at the same Shell station so he could go to the restroom. I had no plans to purchase anything but waited inside for my son. While waiting the exact same thing happened to another woman and this time there was a female behind the counter. I walked over to the woman while she was on the phone w her bank checking her balance and I explained quietly what happened to me. She thanked me, my son came out and we left. I called Fayette County Sheriffs Office to file a report however since my incident was in Nov. 2019 he stated it was too late to do anything criminally. He did tell me that he would go to the store and check things out.
