When *** came in for the first time at the end of February with her wedding dress she had purchased from a consignment shop, I was very clear with her that I was very busy with prom and wedding dresses that I had already scheduledI wanted
to be upfront with her because I did not want her to get nervous and that if she was getting nervous, she shouldn't hesitate to callI told her that I would not be able to even start working on her wedding dress until much closer to her wedding, and she said that that was fineShe also purchased a flower girl dress for her daughter and that needed alterations and changes to the dress as *** requestedI ordered more jewelry from a distributer that *** had picked out, and she ended up purchasing roughly $worth of jewelry for herself, her daughter, and bridesmaids*** emailed me on March 11th, and asked about the jewelry and if I had an estimate for the cost of her alterationsI responded the same day telling her that some of the jewelry had come in, and that I would get back to her with the pricing of the alterationsOn May 14th, *** emailed me to reschedule her appointment for May 20th at 6:with her daughter and herI responded the same day saying I was open on the following Wednesday, May 27th between 6:and She responded, "Wednesday the 27th will workI will see you around 6:30." On May 18th, she emailed me again saying that she wanted to pick up her dress and take it elsewhere, I responded that same day with a phone call and emailShe didn't answer the phone call, so I left a message, and she never called backIn the email, I responded, "***, I am so sorry that you feel that wayI have not started your dress, and would be happy to have it done for you quicklyWhen I took your dress on I thought I was very clear about prom, taking a lot of my timeI am ready to meet with you this week and can have your dress ready, but would be happy to give it back to you undone if that's how you feelI have not had time to look at it for price, I can send you a price in the morning, and or you can stop and get it tomorrowThe store is closed but I will be there till 5pmI am very sorry you are feeling there is no communication but I do not have time to be on a computerPlease call***Thank you!!" *** came in on May 23rd for her final fittingAll initial alterations were done and the dress was ready to be picked upShe was not able to take it home that day because one of the loops on the corset had broken from prior use and I repaired that for herThis was not part of the initial alteration that had been asked to be doneOn May 27th, *** came in to pick up both her wedding dress and her flower girl dressThere had been no other changes to the dress since she had tried it on May 23rd, so there was really no reason to try it on againThe flower girl was not present, so she was not able to try it onShe asked if she could try it on and I said "yeah if you want to!" ***'s wedding dress is a consignment dress, not a new oneIt has been worn by another bride, so parts of it are wornThe tulle flowers were frayed from prior use, and the loops are weak from prior use as wellI offered to fix the loops, but it would have been an additional cost and she declinedThrough all of this, I had been talking to my business partner, ***, who is a personal friend of ***'sHe thought that it was strange that she never mentioned any of these problems to him as he provided all the mens' attire for the weddingThe last day she came in, she seemed to be happy with the end result of both dresses and the costNothing was mentioned otherwiseI have been in the business for years and have never had a situation like thisI am very sorry she feels this way, but I feel that I completely fulfilled my commitment to her as a client
