Shelton's Repair & Remodel

I hired [redacted], owner operator of Shelton's Repair & Remodel. July 25, 2014, he brought a contract that described the work and price agreed upon by both parties. It was agreed that he woukd install 832 of crown molding in the kitchen, family room and formal livingroom, master bedroom and hallway. In each room the molding is installed, painting of the ceilings were to be done. The master bedroom, family room, formal living room and hallways were all to be painted for $1,475.00. He subcontracted the work out to his father, [redacted]. I did not know this prior to the day of his arrival. [redacted] said that he couldn't stay because he must get back to his full time job. I had already given him half down so I had no choice. He father then informs me that his teenage grandson was going to meet him to help. I am blindsided but his grandson actually painted very well. They came back the next day to finish painting the formal livingroom and master bedroom. They rushed through both rooms because [redacted] had a birthday party to attend. They were to return the next day (Friday) but did not and would not and neither would answer my calls. I was sick Monday and Tuesday and tried to let them know. I finally sent a text explaining that I was sick and asked could we reschedule. He was cynicle and accused me of trying to get out of the contract and not completing the work. Both [redacted] and [redacted] return to start the crown molding but bring [redacted] friend who claim to be knowledgeable and boasted of working on muti-million dollar homes so my little home was know big deal. I got out of the way to let them begin. They attached the molding overlapping the boards and caulked the pieces to make a " false corner", there wer obvious gaps but they said caulk and paint would fix it and it is installed upside-down. He didn't paint any ceilings, finish the install or agree to take down the molding and put it right or refund any money for the work that wasn't done except $50.Product_Or_Service: Home RemodelingDesired SettlementI gave [redacted] the opportunity to come back to fix the problems, take the molding down and turn it right side up, refund my money for the painting that wasn't done, for the molding in the kitchen that wasn't done and to finish the install correctly but since he adamantly refused and I must hire someone else to correct the poor job, I want a full refund for any and all money for work that wasn't done.
