Again it is the patients responsibility to know what their insurance benefits areWe are only here to assist in reimbursementThe patient was not charged for X-rays in our office Even if we did take them, he could have said no at that instance We did not force the X-rays in his mouthEverything we offer must be consented by the patient before we proceed I personally spoke with Aaron regarding his concernsI again stressed to him that we do accept all insurancesSo there is no misrepresentation in this matterHe never asked if we were an in network dentistI have the initial call recorded for proofI have signed documents stating that he is ultimately responsible for any monies his insurance won't payIf he read this statement he would have known that there is a chance his insurance may not pay the full bill for servicesI did reach out to the patient again to once again offer him a 10%discount off his bill since he felt misleadHe was too busy to talk and never returned my call to discussWe did not make him accept any treatment he didnt wantHe choose to come back for another appointment for his cleaning and fillingHe knew his financial obligations at that point as we give everyone a printed statement before treatment is started explaining what his insurance covers and what his financial responsibility would beHe is responsible to read the documentation we supply himThe only negligence is on his behalfHe will be responsible for the payment of his bill or turned over to our collection agencyWe applied any and all of his insurance benefits to his account as we always doHis concerns should be directed towards his employer or insurance company that gives him reduced benefits and reimbursement

When the patient called to schedule his first appointment he asked if we accepted his insuranceWe accept all insurancesI have the call recorded with his exact questionSo there is no dispute thereHad he asked if we participate or we're in network with his insurance we would have informed him
we do not There is a difference between a dentist that is in network with insurances versus dental offices that accept insurancesAll dental offices accept and file every insuranceIn our office just like medical offices, new patient appointments are an hour where we gather clinical information about the patient ( health history, X-rays, oral cancer screening, periodontal assessments, etc)We bring all of our patients back for their scaling and cleaning The first appointment charges are for X-rays and comprehensive exam Not the prophylaxis (cleaning) The follow up visit is when the cleaning is billed I can supply the billing statement for verification At the first visit we discuss the patients dental needs (fillings)The patient opted to schedule his appointment before we had the pretreatment estimate from the insurance company The new patient consent form that he signed clearly states that insurance is only an estimate and that anything not covered by the insurance is the sole responsibility of he patientI can provide the signed documentInsurance is an agreement between the patient and their employer and is their responsibility to understand and know their benefitsIt has never been the responsibility of the dental officeI had a consultation with this patient at nocost in regards to his concernHe was very loud, ride, and disrespectful to myself and my staff I informed the patient that I would look at his account and see if I could make an adjustment to his bill We offered him a 10% courtesy and he refused and said that was unacceptableWhen I returned his call he stated it was not a good time to call and said he would return my call at a later time I have yet to hear from the patientMaybe the patient should have read the forms he signed stating he was responsible for the bill regardless of insurance coverageHis is a legal document that is enforceable

I am rejecting this response because:
Your claims to a recorded conversation is not reflective of my conversation in person, anything I signed thereafter would have been under false pretenses.

Again it is the patients responsibility to know what their insurance benefits are. We are only here to assist in reimbursement. The patient was not charged for X-rays in our office.  Even if we did take them, he could have said no at that instance.  We did not force the X-rays in his mouth. Everything we offer must be consented by the patient before we proceed.   I personally spoke with Aaron regarding his concerns. I again stressed to him that we do accept all insurances. So there is no misrepresentation in this matter. He never asked if we were an in network dentist. I have the initial call recorded for proof. I have signed documents stating that he is ultimately responsible for any monies his insurance won't pay. If he read this statement he would have known that there is a chance his insurance may not pay the full bill for services. I did reach out to the patient again to once again offer him a 10%discount off his bill since he felt mislead. He was too busy to talk and never returned my call to discuss. We did not make him accept any  treatment he didnt want. He choose to come back for another appointment for his cleaning and filling. He knew his financial obligations at that point as we give everyone a printed statement before treatment is started explaining what his insurance covers and what his financial responsibility would  be. He is responsible to read the documentation we supply him. The only negligence is on his behalf. He will be responsible for the payment of his bill or turned over to our collection agency. We applied any and all of his insurance benefits to his account as we always do. His concerns should be directed towards his employer or insurance company that gives him reduced benefits and reimbursement.
