[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, you must give us a reason why you are rejecting the responseIf no reason is received your complaint will be closed Administratively Resolved] Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: That is an incorrect statement: "There is no shingles missing" There are chunks of shingles missing They are buckled and crumbling off an into the guttering.If indeed the shingles are defective, are they not part of the home and covered by the home insurance? Would an insurance company not be responsible for proving to the manufacturer that their shingles are defective? Why would the proof have to be made by the home owner that the shingle is defective? I understand that a defective shingle will crumble as these have under normal, if not extreme weather conditions As far as the water damage in the home, there are spots in the ceiling in almost every room Does the inside water damage spotting include any compensation for ply board, insulation, or molding that has occurred?Regards, [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: Still not feel we should have late fee when not late and they cashed checks anyway. Today January 14, got new billing for next installment for this policy. So if an issue why would we billed for next installment

Dear *** ***,This letter is in regards to a complaint file against Shenandoah Mutual Fire Insurance Company with your ID of ***Simply put, the insured’s roof does not have wind or hail damageThere is no shingles missing and there is no evidence of hail damage around the property
The damage to the roof is from what we believe to be a defective shingleI have researched defective shingles and all signs point to this, The policy states that defects and errors are not coveredThis part of the policy was given to the insured along with the denial letter for the roof on 7/2/If for some reason this is not the case, there is still nothing that would cover them under their policy with us being that it is not wind or hail damageThey have been told to Contact the manufacturer about possibly making a claim for a defective shingleThey also have been told that the policy would cover the inside water damage up to this point, which is some spots on the ceilingThis has been looked at recently by a representative of the company and a contractor and the inside water spots will the settled and paid soonWe are not responsible for paying for any water damage that occurs beyond this point because they are responsible for preventing further damage to their property stated by the policy conditionsI hope this helps with this matter and once the payment has been made on the inside water damage spotting Shenandoah Mutual Fire Insurance Company will consider this matter closed and finalized.Sincerely,Ryan R

As previously stated, balances due of $or less are not
billed but carried forward to subsequent bills.
The attachments show that the Original $underpayment was indicated
on the notices sent to our customer for policy ***This policy is billed on a payment plan of
payments due 12/04(Annual anniversary date and 1st Installment Due
Date), 02/(2nd Installment Due Date) and 04/(3rd and final Installment
Date)
Regarding Policy *** this policy is billed
annually. The current amount due on that
policy is $10.00. This premium was due
12/04/A non-pay notice was sent on
12/09/for the annual premium, plus a $late charge. We received payment on 12/14/for the
original amount due, but not including the late charge. Again as previously stated, balances due of
$or less are not rebilled but carried forward until the next billing, in
this case it would be included on the bill due 12/04/

at that time a $10.00...

late fee is charged and an additional 15 days is granted
to make payment.  Charges of $10.00 or
less are not billed but carried forward to the next bill.  Each bill shows the current amount due
including any amount due from a previous bill.
The attachments show the complete billing history for both policy
[redacted] and Policy [redacted] and the bill that was due 12/04/2015
for $344.20 which we received payment of $334.20 on 12/14/2015 this late
payment generated a $10.00 late fee in addition to the payment received being
$10.00 short generated a balance due of $20.00 which was billed when this bill
was not paid a cancellation notice was again generated with an additional
$10.00 late fee included.
