Review: I hired Shepherd Services LLC (previously [redacted]) on 13 February 2015 to install a new heat pump and air handler. I gave the [redacted] a down payment of $3,690 on 13 February 2015 and the contract stated the work would be completed by 17 February 2015. 17 February - Shepherd Services stated they could not install the equipment due to the weather.18 February - Shepherd Services had the equipment delivered to my home but Mr. [redacted] stated it would not be done today because his helper was sick. Promised to be here first thing the following morning.19 February - By 9:48 am Shepherd Services had not shown up or called. So I called and the [redacted] Mr. [redacted] who was extremely intoxicated and incoherent. He stated 'he could not complete the work today and wanted to fix his truck'. But in a drunken state said he would be here the following morning.20 February - At 10:53 am Mr. [redacted] called to say he was on his way only to tell me it was too cold out to install the equipment. Mr. [redacted] stated he would be here first at 7:30am on 23 February (the following Monday).23 February - By 8:40 Shepherd Services was not here, I called and Mr. [redacted] stated 'he'd be here later his truck would not start.I have been without heat and taken a week off work for him to install the equipment and it still wasn't done so I demanded he return the equipment and my $3,690 and he refused. So I was stuck with the equipment and had to hire another company to install it. They immediately installed the equipment in the same weather conditions that Mr. [redacted] said he wouldn't do them in. Mr. [redacted] has a history of this under other company names he's owned. [redacted] for example. Revdex.com has alerts on this previous business of his. I don't believe he ever had any intention of completing the work once he received my money. He never attempted to even begin. If the Revdex.com would like a copy of any documentation of this information please let me know.Desired Settlement: I want a refund in the amount of $1,172.50 which is the difference in Shepherd Services wholesale cost of the equipment - $2,517.50 (I have documentation to show his cost) and the $3,690.00 I paid him - Total difference. $1,172.50. I paid Mr. [redacted] $3,690 as a down payment for the work and equipment and refused to meet or even attempt to complete the contract terms. I had no choice but to keep the equipment I paid for but he should not make a penny profit since he defaulted on the contract.
