Shepherd's Cove

was hung up on by the intake counselor. The supervisor called me and assisted me in referring me to Shepard cove. When the I take counselor for Shepard cove spoke with me I informed her that I was at the laundromat. She asked could I be there by 11am and I said let me put my clothes in the dryer and I will be on my way. When I arrived to Shepard cove. I was asked where were my clothes. I stated that no one told me to bring my clothes. I did not know I had to bring my belongs and wash them. The intake counselor should have advised me to bring all of my things because I would have to wash my clothes because that is the shelters policy. When I asked the intake counselor why did she not explain to me the rules she said she was new and did not know. She then went and got someone else to speak with me but by that time I was already irritated. I walked down the steps and proceed out the door still talking and 3 women came out of the office asking what's going on and when I tried to explain it I was told to calm down and to not be aggressive when this is my nature. I have a disability and was not treated properly.. This is how I was born. I used no curse words until after some yelled dont let her back in here..... I then called inside to make a complaint and I was told by the manager that I was running thru the building cursing folks out. I was not running I was walking. What your not going to do is have 6 women try and gang up on me and ask me whats going on... my issue is not being told what I needed to bring prior to intake. I dont have gas to keep driving here coming here going there. It was the intake counselors job to inform me of what I need to bring. Had she given me the proper information then we would not be in this situation. I have read the reviews of shelards cove and there not alot of positive things people have to say. At this point this is why people don't come and ask for help because when you do this what you get.
