Sheraton Crystal City

I booked this hotel through Groupon, however the hotel put a hold on my debit for $per night without listing that information on the Groupon website I have booked with Groupon before and I always book hotels with NO additional fees and NO deposits I will not be staying at this hotel again

To whom this may concern,The Westin Crystal City reached an agreement with the complainant prior to receiving this letter.The complainant was a guest at the Westin Crystal City on August 13, She checked out on August 14, During her stay it appears a candle was lit in her sleeping room
which caused damages to the room.On the morning of August 14, when our housekeepers entered the room, they observed rose petals all over the floorOnce they begun to clean the room they noticed candle wax splattered over the floor and a burn hole in the carpet because the fit candie was knocked over onto the floor.As a result of the burn the Westin Crystal City will have to replace the entire carpet in the roomDue to the carpet pattern we are unable to replace just that spotThe hole in the carpet is substantial and I've included photos for your review.I spoke with the complainant on Wednesday, August 19, and explained to her that as a courtesy we will waive the cost of the carpet as our sister property had extraHowever, she will have to pay for the removal and installation of the new carpetThe total cost the guestwill incur is $500.I sent a follow up email to guest explaining what we had discussed and photos of the room and the burnt carpetWe are grateful that the hotel did not sustain excessive damages as a result of the guest negligenceThis could have been a disaster.If further information is needed, please don't hesitate to contact me.Sincerely,Thomas EDirector of Finance
