Sheraton Memphis Downtown

I reserved a room at this hotel receiving a confirmation email, securing my room with my credit card. I still have my confirmation email. I secured the room by phone speaking with a Sheraton guest associate. This was on Friday March 21st for a nights stay starting on Saturday March 22nd leaving Sunday March 23rd. Due to a sporting event my family and I arrived at the Memphis Sheraton at 1:30 am on Sunday March 23rd to be told our reserved room was unavailable due to overbooking. I was told they were hoping for cancellations or no shows. The staff was very rude, did not assist in finding me a vacant room sent me away with children in the car asleep and no room in downtown Memphis. This is a safety concern on it's own. I was unable to locate lodging for my family until 3 am. The Sheraton had my email address, name, cell phone number. They never attempted to contact me to make me aware of any problems with my reservation. They left my family stranded in downtown Memphis 4 hours away from home with children.Desired SettlementChange in company policy allowing such practices which leave a family in unsafe situations and no accommodations. By no way does your explanation or excuse change the fact that your hotel who reserved me a room on my credit card insuring I had a bed to put my children in accommodate. I was sent out at 1:30 am with children to find a place to stay. To fix this, change your policies. Do not book rooms you don't have period!
