Sherwood Drywall Reviews (7)

My husband and I recently used Sherwood Drywall for a home renovation project, spackling of kitchen, dining room and laundry ceiling as well as general dry wall work and repairs else where in our home Initially, I was hesitant to use a company unknown to us; however, [redacted] encouraged me to view his dry wall work on a new home construction project he was working on and I took him up on this offer and was pleased to see the quality of his work [redacted] provided a written, fair quote on my drywall work and stuck to the numbers with no surprises at the end! He was timely, efficient, and professional He did the job himself and did not hire out and did his best to minimize dust....Overall, I was very pleased with the qualify of his work and would not hesitate to use him again or refer him to family or friends It's nice to see that people are still proud of the work they do and care about customer satisfaction

We hired *** to replaster two skylight tunnels so we could paint them rather than have a textured surface again He responded to our call quickly, gave us a quote, arrived when he said he would and did a fine job

[redacted] was a pleasure to work with and made himself very available to come back after we made some changes. Highly recommend this contractor.

Sherwood Drywall did a excellent job good price and on time

We hired Sherwood Drywall to board, mud, prime and paint the walls of our new-construction home. After the third application of mud, [redacted] switched into priming. It was only later that we discovered the primer he used wasn't even a paint primer, but rather a mud and priming mixture that dried quickly on the walls with a sandpaper-type finish. Without even taking time to so much as sand or wipe down the walls he then began painting. The finished product continued to deteriorate.

Globs of mud had been smeared over the finished cedar ceiling. White paint drizzled down the walls from the lower ceiling, congealing in runny lines several feet from the top. The texture of the painted walls was that of sandpaper, nothing a second or even third coat of paint could cover. The lines between the walls and ceiling were uneven, waving in and out. Dust particles clung to the walls, trapped forever behind coats of poorly-applied mud and paint. Holes and divots appeared under the harsh light of day, indicating a mudding job that was nowhere close to completed. Every shortcut had been taken, with unfinished lines well above the trim boards and gouges in the drywall next to window openings. We couldn't find a single corner that looked close to completion from a mudding standpoint, let alone sanded. The mudding between boards was decent, but walls were rough and unfinished. Again, we couldn't find one wall in our walk-through to show him as an example of a finished wall, for not a single one could be found without significant issues. We weren't looking for perfection, but nothing here met the lowest of minimum standards. Several boards hung by [redacted]'s crew hadn't even been properly secured to the studs, with one particularly-notable board hanging from the wall by a single nail. The tape on the corners had been applied with such haste that it was pealing away from the drywall in many places below all the mud and paint. Last but not least, spatters of mud covered most of the wood furniture, and was caked on the top of one solid wood night stand which had evidently been used as a stepstool.

Every painted wall (about 1500 square feet of living area) needed to be fully sanded prior to proper paint application.

The drywaller had spent the past four days trying to finish a single floor, and had determined the only responsible course of action was to simply apply a final coat over all the walls.

Needless to say, progress inside has ground to a complete standstill, while we wait for the drywall to be completed - something that should have been done two weeks ago.

We are very sorry to have taken on the painting of your house. It was on your insistance the drywaller also be a painter as well. As my very low price indicated. My mistake. I have paid dearly for this due to you holding back $6500 and the many people who have commented on this review. The un- nailed boards you speak of are in a 3 foot crawl space that the boarders left un-nailed. Sorry for the inconvenenience.
