To Whom It May Concern:I am responding to complaint #*** from February 15, The school bus was brought to Sherwood Freightliner on two different occasions with different electrical complaintsThe customer is always required to complete and sign a service needed request before any
repairs are startedComplaint 1: - Complained of buzzer going offCorrection: Found switch unpluggedApparently he tried to repair this brake safety item himselfOur technician plugged the Switch back inWe repaired it to original factory specifications.Complaint 2:Dash ABS Warning light onCorrection: Found another self repair of anti-lock brake system sensor and bracket damaged from incorrect tool being used on rear axleIncorrect tool was a hammer and chisel which caused damage and failure of Sensors, brackets, Seal, cup and cone bearingSWe repaired it to original factory specifications.Complaint 3:Check Engine light onCorrection: Found federal emissions valves and sensors plugged from carbon build-up.Removed, cleaned, and re-installed Delta Psensor, EGR valve, and grid heater manifold.When the customer was leaving with the bus after the repairs were completed he stopped and said the Brake Dash Indicator light was still onThe Service Manager entered the bus to verify and found the emergency footbrake was applied turning the light on, a conditionThe Service Manager released and applied the foot brake in front of the customer several times and every time the light operated correctlyHe told the customer that the brake light warningwas working correctly on the school busThe customer stated, "This is an intermittent conditionI will pay my bill and never come backGet off my bus.”Sherwood Freightliner will not compromise or “short cut” any safety features, especially on a school bus with many young children insideThe children’s safety is priceless and I would not want my grandchildren or any other child riding in any vehicle that was not safe.Respectfully,Mark N*** General Manager / Vice-President
