Kenny contacted Revdex.com regarding this case. At the time the vehicle was brought into the shop the vehicle's diagnostic indicted a new starter was needed. The part was ordered and installed but when the vehicle was started it made a loud noise. The starter was removed and by manually spinning the engine...

over it was discovered a rod was broken.  The business called the customer to tell her of this issue, the customer asked what to do and the business suggested either putting a new engine int he vehicle or scrapping it. The business was able to return the starter that was ordered and did not charge the customer for the part. The business did notify the customer of the window concern but she alerted the business to the issue as well. The business did not do work around the back seat and no one at their shop would need to lower the back seat. The customer was charged for the diagnostic and labor for work done.

Review: I have been to this business twice. The first time, I asked for an estimate. They called with the amount and completed the service without prior approval. I let it go, as I needed the vehicle back quickly. I went back on 9/18/14 to check on an oil leak. They advised that the oil filter was loose and that they tightened it and refilled the oil. I told them that I didn't ask for the oil to be refilled. I have my own oil. They said that they would just add that price to the total (as if they did me a favor), or I could bring them the oil. Then they said that I had a transmission fluid leak and that my transmission lines were leaking. I told them I wanted my car back and they charged me a fee that I wasn't aware of prior to leaving my vehicle. I parked in an area with no leaks that night. In the morning, I was unable to detect any transmission leak. No moister anywhere.Desired Settlement: $40 fee that wasn't disclosed until the vehicle was returned.

The customer asked the business to call the warranty company and see if it was covered; the business did this and found that this was not covered. The customer agreed to paying for and ordering the parts. While the business was waiting for parts they added oil to the vehicle because it was so low. The customer came by and spoke with the business and after being told they added oil he stated he know that it was low but he had his own oil. The business asked that when he picked up the vehicle after the work was done to bring oil with him to replace the oil they used. He agreed to do that but then 10 minutes later came back upset that they did not call him before doing this and no longer wanted them to work on his vehicle. The customer was presented with a bill for the 30 minutes of labor for the service the vehicle. That charge is not refundable because it is for labor for a service that was rendered.
